Some of these coins have been around for awhile, some have not. Some may be pump and dump and others may not be.  Putting aside a strictly mining for profit perspective.  What do you feel has real potential?  There are some of these with strong community development and others have developers in the wind.  Vote for a coin that you believe in longevity and future adoption

The only alt coin I current have is PPC and only got 22 of those. Alt coins in general would be more attractive to me if I had gpu power to spare.

I was just curious as to whether people had favorites they had belief in, or were people just jumping the bandwagon to every new crypto.  I have my own personal thoughts but wanted input from others... my bad... maybe it is lame.

This has not gained much interest, but my personal one was FTC.  Primarily due to a community/forum wanting to establish themselves with strength for the future

Well said, I belief that doing the research and keeping upto date with coin trends will go a long way too. I believed ripple was going to be the new bitcoin with the fact it has nearly instant transfer but now that theirs issues with mt gox and the fact its centralised and has too much pump and dump potential so not so sure anymore. But I'll keep up with whats happening with it an current exchange services that are adopting it to see if it will make it.

Everyone should do the same before investing in alt coins.

Alt coins are crap. If one were to succeed it would have to be because it did something better than Bitcoin, and currently none do.

Wow, you seriously are pushing PWC -- but from the looks of things it's not gaining any more popularity than any other clonedcoin alt ... seriously what does PWC offer that's different from the rest of the pack? Changed block numbers are unimportant and unimpressive, does it actually change anything important from Litecoin?

I mean given that and the whole mini pre-mine scandal, I don't see why you're putting so much effort still pushing it.

go FTC! everyone thinks that BTC is the king because none of the other can offer anything better, thats not exactly the case.  Most people dont realize that bitcoin was just the 1st player in a big game.  It has been accepted and is more mainstream, but other alts offer far greater speeds and are willing to adapt much quicker.  Sometimes it doesnt take major innovation to win, just to improve on an older products shortcomings and market the hell out of it.  That being said my prediction is for a 50% + failure rate in the alts, but its easy to already pick out the struggling coins.  The reality is.... its still anyones game.  the alts may not un-crown btc, but you may be surprised to see a select few of the alts derive strength from BTC that cannot adapt as easily, chances are a scrypt based coin will running the majority within a few years..... just my two cents

PPC compute/energy costs decrease eventually. BTC and the rest can only go up.

PPC therefore offers something the others don't. Not mining it ourselves, but it's interesting.
