Of course it will go up. This all have been waiting for. Let me remind you that in June, the price was already approaching $ 3,000, but after the panic gained momentum, the price has dropped. The whales will begin to sell the purchased coins and it will raise the price. Then she stabiliziruemost on a real level.

Segwit will lock in in ~600 blocks. I suppose the price will increase further then and even more once it activates.
Then a correction will most likely follow, but I suspect we won't go below $3000 at that point.
It's not impossible for it to dip below $3000 these days though (before Segwit).

Its is true, bitcoin has already surpassed $3000 and we have now a new ATH. No one can really predict the movement of the price, but this is a indication that after the feared Aug 1, people are now going back to bitcoin and selling their BCH for BTC. Again, we don't know what's gonna happen in the future, bitcoin seeing bitcoin breaking $3000 is a good sign that the future is looking good. I just hope that we can really sustained this momentum and not see any negative news that will slow down the phase. Just keep on holding and we might see the price climb higher in the next coming weeks of months.

I think it will make a huge jump after segwit gets activated, due to way better scalability.

Of course it will jump over the "current value" and then drop again to lets say first it goes up to 4000$, but then it drops again to 3800$.

Yes, very happy to see the climb above the $3000 ceiling.  I wonder if the climb of BTC and the crash BCH will dissuade other hard forks?  Or did those behind the hard fork take their BCH and move it to BTC anyway?

I just wake up and saw the price at almost $3200. It really made me smile and remember how we are still in the beggining of the chart, and in a few years we will see this chart again and remember how 3k was once the ATH. Also makes me happy for never giving up on Bitcoin, since the day I found a thread about it and the price was at $300.

I wouldn't be very getting used to it because the output of the market you now see, is just a temporal response for the market settling in after the all coming "hard fork". This situation may change in November. By then, the price may seek a new All Time High.

Bitcoin was set to increase after the BCC fork event and so is happening. I think it will increase and might reach $4500 by November before 2x Hardfork with some fluctuations. After fork there might be a fall but we will definitely see $5000 by the end of the year. Bitcoin is in its growing phase. There was a stagnation in July because of FUD and speculations. That is least to happen again before November.

Anybody who has been following the series of events unfolding over a period of time, knows that it just a matter of time before the $3000 mark will be surpassed couple with the fact that i t went as far as $2900+ few hours to August 1. I guess what we are witnessing is the dividends of August 1 at this time. Whether it stay there or move forward is another discussion because the bitcoin I know, something big of a challenge is coming in the few days but this is a testimony that we can still surpass them as well.

I sold some of my bitcoins today morning when i saw the price above 3000$. Its a big achievement for all the bitcoiners. Bitcoin will surely move up more and it will touch 4k$ similarly as it touched 3k.

Yeah I think it would continue hope that it could rise up to $4,000 soon.
Maybe this is just the beginning of the pump of the price  I hope we could see it to touch above $4,000 before the year ends.
