Hey guys,
Does anyone know when next batch of bitmain products will be released?
Did they stop making apw5s and r4s?
ebay sellers charge at least twice the price...

should i wait or buy avalon 741 instead?

thanks

i already did. i got one 741running and another two on the way. only downside is energy efficiency and noise but i figured out how to turn waste heat into house heating (scotland lol).
But if i had r4 i could stic it in my friends staff rooom in hotel and thereforeit would be free electricity...

BTw can i run 3X avalon741 on 2X bitmain apw3?

I remember reading a review that subjectively, the Avalon 741 is somewhat quieter than the S9.

The R4 is supposed to be very quiet as far as miners go but it has had a reputation for poor reliability. (Someone said that has been fixed, no idea if that's true.)

I use cryptocurrency and solar power to help my best friend Naomi Wu... And I'm proud of it!

The R4 is really quiet I have one I had 2  they break a lot.

The avalon 741  on -2  does less hash  and is not subjectively quieter then the s-9.  I measured it is quieter if set to -2

The s-9 on auto tune is really loud and high pitched

the r4 breaks a lot
the s9 breaks often

the avalon 741  hardly ever breaks.

If you order the avalon 741 today  you should have it in under 10 days.

the others would take more then a month.

I ordered both. If I were you, i'd get some Avalons so you can start making BTC now while you wait for your bitmain equipment to come in. Plus it will give you exposure to both companies and their respective equipment and customer service.

Avalon has reliability and Bitmain has slightly better efficiency and more hashpower. Both miners are loud so don't expect anything less than around what a vacuum would produce. I personally prefer Avalon since they deliver quite nicely and don't do scummy things like Bitmain sometimes does.

can i use 2 bitmain apw3 PSUs to power 3 avalon miners?

I have tested the Avalon 741 boards pulling 550-600watts each.

With the setup you describe you would be trying to pull 1800w out of a 1600w psu. I wouldnt recommend it.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

There are still S9's and L3+'s available on eastshore.xyz for a very reasonable price.

I have never ordered from Avalon but I'll never buy anything from Bitmain again so Avalon will get my business next time.

Bitmain took my money, has not confirmed my payment status even though it's been seven weeks and their support staff has told me and shown screenshots that they did actually get it.  The product I ordered supposedly ships in a few weeks but I won't be getting mine.  Bitmain = crooks, beware.
