Let's say you invested whatever.. 2 Ether in a project. When the tokens/coins come out, do you receive the amount the Ether is worth at the time of the "buy in" so to speak, or do you receive equal to the currency when the tokens is released to holders so to speak?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I still can't figure out your question
ICO projects will have different forms of payment, most of which are payment by BTC, LTC, ETH, Waves. And when you send your money to them, they will send you their tokens right after the ICO ends.

It depends on what ICO project you invest in. For some ICO projects, the altcoin tokens you received will be more valuable than 2 ETH for example, such as OMG. If, you are lucky to make profit. Also ,some project are not as expected, the price is low, such as SONM and you will lose some money.

In my opinion, I think investing in ICOs is way better than investing in a coin that is already listed on exchanges. Though there is risk involved, but the chances of you not gaining profit are very slim. When you invest in an ICO, you buy your tokens at a very low price including bonuses, which further means that if you hold your coins for long term, my might gain more than 1000% profit from the initial investment.

We receive token equal to ether announced in ICO not equivalent to currency value but in ICO we get some bonus like some percentage so it make some profit once it hit to exchange.

There are fixed amount token you will receive every 1 eth You can see it in any Ann of any coin. how much coin every 1 eth is depends also when you join there are also bonus scheme for the ICO project.

There is an ICO price. You will receive them according to the ICO price as indicated in their whitepaper and ANN thread. By the time when you receive them, there is a possibility that it rises or dips. But there are bonuses usually during ICOs so if it goes down, it might end up breakeven.

I think it depends as you can see in same cases that coin after getting on exchange is going under ICO price, so yes it could be better but you really need to choose carefully, the best ICO are ones which are hyped without bounty so nobody will mindlessly dump it on exchange.
