I think it should be around Aug 9. I think this will just come and go we already saw what happened in the price during HF. But this is a step forward for the bitcoin technology in general. Just another bump along the road that can be overcome just don't get to excited about it. |

Since it was due to happen its more of a sense of relief at this point, we can get past this bumpy stage and move forward.
As long as we don't know how things will play out in November this year (referring to the 2MB hard fork), there is no such a thing as relief. People get blinded by current price increase and how things haven't resulted in a big negative drama at the 1st of August. I am conservative from nature, but in this case my convervativeness is well justified. In that regard, we shouldn't be surprised to see a huge load of fud and trolling happen in the last few weeks, before the hard fork is supposed to kick in. That's why at this point I don't see the price go up further than the $4000 level. It will form a temporary peak till we know how things will play out in November. |

Not really. Everyone that had a clue about Bitcoin knew Segwit was going in sooner or later. It's the most tested code ever, it's perfectly fine. Im tired of conspiracy theorists and their bullshit. I wonder where they will go once we get Segwit enabled and nothing wrong happens. They will stick around for a while waiting for a doomsday scenario that will never come, that will be fun to see. They will become like Alex Jones of cryptocurrency waiting for collapse. The price may drop for all I know. People like to sell the news. Just buy the dip, we are going $5000 this year (if NYC agreement clowns don't ruin the price, and hardforkers are always ready to ruin the price with their idiocy) I think that 5000$ is too much, segwit is not always pumping the price, ofcourse we saw a huge pump from Litecoin, but if you look on Viacoin, which also has Segwit its price stays and doesn`t grow. I guess we will see bitcoin about 4000$ by the end of this year. |

The breaking news tag is misused once again on this forum. This isn't new really nor is it breaking news. I think tomorrow is going to be pretty uneventful just like August 1st. Unless the segwit activation hasn't priced in yet.
What makes you day eventful ,but in the case of bitcoin August 1st was the most important day as we saw a network split to begin with and still it is nothing big  Lets see how much support we get tomorrow ,if everything goes smooth we will be seeing the rally keeps on going and that is what i am expecting too. |

Many experts predicted a bitcoin crash August 1. As we know this did not happen. I think that August 8, nothing will happen. I don't understand why the price should go up. I think people are crazy and looking for any excuse for rising prices. I am ready for that the price growth will stop. From that bitcoin will not become worse.

Excited to see what this can bring for cryptos in the future. Like it or not, all other coins kinda depend on Bitcoin... It's the most used and most known/mainstream coin we have, and having it succeed means other altcoins can also ride the wave. Maybe it's already priced in, but if the block times improve and transaction fee's get smaller, i believe we can still see a big surge in price this quarter! One can hope  |

I am also excited about this but not as excited like I have felt last Aug 1 especially regarding BTC's price. We are already seeing price movement in BTC because of SegWit activation. But as always, we still don't what will happen regarding its price. It can either go to the moon or crash to 2k-ish area. Here's just hoping for a successful activation of it.

The all out dump of segshit coin into Bitcoin Cash will be spectacular!
Whatever happened BTC price now jump. I think most users support segwit. Even BCH popular , the price will not overtake BTC. BCH is a new coin, a new coin will creep as the newbie I thik. BTC is veteran, it has long history, people still trust in BTC not BCH. |

It's only being locked in, not activated, so nothing very exciting about it. Nobody can use Segwit transactions yet, in other words. We've spent so many months debating Segwit and now preparing for its activation, that it almost feels like a non-event at this point... |

You're right, really excited about this. There is no chance for daily traders spread a misleading news and trying to dump bitcoin for now obviously.
Because people know what will happen in this month, bitcoin will be on bull run again, maybe.
I guess bitcoin could reach $4000 in this month and people will be tempted to sell their bitcoin, and regret it later.
Do not sell your bitcoin, unless you really need to, don't have any other options.

Nothing to be so exited about. In past weeks 100% of blocks are BIP91 and it's something very expected. The drama date was 1st Aug. But everything went fine, so now it's just something like extension. |

Keep hodling and then what? eventually hodlers are hodling for one obvious reason which is dumping some day, guess who'd dump that altcoin later When unsuspected fools start trading it daily? people are buying now just in case of another split to dump their free coins once again if they're lucky. |
