Is it possible I lost my Bitcoin Cash?

Yesterday I claimed BCH using Electron Cash by using the seed from one of my BTC wallets. It worked, the EC wallet synced and displayed my balance correctly. I immediately moved the BTC to a new wallet afterward.

Today I tried to do the same using another wallet, however I moved my BTC to a new wallet before syncing Electron Cash with the old seed (following the recommended security precaution). This time Electron Cash did not sync any transaction history and showed a zero balance.

Do you lose access to BCH if you BTC after the chain split occurred? Did I just sh!t the bed? Someone give me some good news.
