The Magical Report Button (?)

I've been here for three years now but I still don't know if I can use the report button for posts that aren't posted on their proper sections. I've stumbled upon many threads that are started on the wrong boards—especially questions about web wallets and some services that are posted in the bitcoin discussion board—and it clearly isn't very appealing since it's kind of disorganized.

Can I use that button to have the mods move it to their proper places or is it exclusively for abusive and spammy posts? _{I'm a noob}

You can, I frequently do so.
Ideally, you'd include a board where you believe the thread belongs/fits better.
(eg most of my reports of that sort look like this "Wrong section -> Beginners & Help")

The report functions are to be used on any post, topic or PM that you feel needs moderator or administrator intervention. Whether it breaks the rules, is miscategorized or you require an administrator to review it (only in the cases of PMs) then this function should be used.

(eg most of my reports of that sort look like this "Wrong section -> Beginners & Help")

Similarly, most of mine are just 'Move to (section)' if I know what section it should be in.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. I have tons of reports but all of them are from posts that I think were spam or just inappropriate to be in the thread. Anyways, will be locking this thread since I now know how the report button really works.
