I am sure that one day all private information is going to be saved uner one private number. Everything: the ID, wallet, phone, insurance end ect. Maybe in 50 years or early this future will became our present.

I am sure of that.Yes it is,because today bitcoins are send to person to person and having transactions even both persons were far from each other. And in the status of bitcoin today its very possible to happen that cryptocrrency is now well being known in the whole world. To be honest bitcoin is now connected in many companies how much for when it come to technology.

One of the basic features of btc is anonymity. So when you create this topic to ask like that I think you should remember this before. If btc is associated with a phone number, then anonymity will no longer exist, and it may be easier for the user to be stolen. Although this is also a creative idea but I think it is inappropriate and not feasible.

i can agree to that mate its the well known feature of bitcoin that's why supports and investors who dont want being known by others are playing
with this investment so if they will be needed to gave their personal information it wont followed this anonymous transactions and i dont think that
if this happen more people will still buy it with already a danger with their money.

Associating bitcoin wallet with your mobile is a big no no no! It's not safe cause some hackers can hack it. Or for example you lost your phone with your sim in it, then someone found your phone, it is possible that all your btcs can be stolen from you by the person who found your mobile device, dude. Dont dream for it to happen.
If they ever do that they would make an deactivation like on a credit card, and as for hackers they will always exist as long there is technology. And as credit card cant be accessed without pin those smartphones could not be accessed without pin or fingerprint depends on what security it has.

Be careful! Don't lose your Bitcoins in November 2017 forks!!!

No. Hell no. A BTC address affiliated with a mobile number is a huge problem in terms of anonymity. One of the pros of bitcoin is being somewhat anonymous to some extent, due to wallet addresses not being affiliated with any personal data or information that the wallet owner has. Connecting wallets/addresses to a mobile number will render this feature useless. You can use those services if you want. But don't come crying here saying that you lost your bitcoins because the service provider got hacked.

In the Republic of the Philippines, the most convinient way to buy bitcoins with peso is thru coins.ph... this provider requires the users to integrate their mobile numbers with their wallets to avoid laundering. In fact, you can purchase bitcoins from 711 via your mobile number.

I don't think so, one of the best powerful features of Bitcoin is its anonymousity, and that it is decentralized currency, connection BTC with mobilr numbers affect negatively this features and don't encourage more people to start using or dealing with Bitcoin.

Can BTC truly be considered decentralized even though more than 70% of the mining is coming from one location? Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

If any of these services will come, then people would use it for convenience. But it's must be decentralized. It must be seperate service, not Bitcoin plugin for anonymity.

That time is not much far. Already a lot of things are connected with mobile numbers and can be controlled with mobile numbers. And it will not be much difficult thing and programmers will be able to make this happen. And let me tell you that transferring money using mobile numbers is already somehow practical. In my country there are companies that have given this feature to its users that they can send money from one place to another using mobile numbers.

I hope not. I'm changing my phone number every few weeks at the moment. I have countless enemies who must be avoided.

Considering all the tales we hear about how easy it is to game mobile phone companies to reroute sims, it's not something I'm going to be entrusting any money to.
Correct, adding phone numbers to it will leave a lot of us vulnerable and makes us potential victims of the bad guys. I don't want to believe the OP didn't consider the implications of this action should it be implemented somehow.
NSA keeps record of everything you have done in past two years by using your number. They have record of all of us in other words. Now you want them to learn about our earnings and trace over bitcoins also. Also, what is the reason behind connecting it with mobile numbers? I did not get it.

Hi guys and girls.
What do you think will they ever make BTC connected with our mobile numbers (so we could pay with it)?  Cool

We don't need that to happen at all. We can already pay with our mobile anywhere where bitcoin is accepted, without it being connected to our mobile number, with the wallets. I don't think i would want my bitcoins to be associated with my mobile number as i won't feel anonymous at all in that case, and i would not feel safe at all paying for anything with them if they are going out from my mobile number.
Well i wrote about that on earlier posts if someone wanted to know who you are or where you are that would be done in few minutes so you dont have to worry, internet made world too small. Wink

I don't quite get why that would be beneficial for the network. It would practically take the anonymous aspect of bitcoin away. You already have a 'number' (a long and encrypted one) that serves the purpose pretty well. No need to connect our phone number to our wallets.

I don't know about near future, but in India we have a bitcoin exchange, Zebpay (Android only) and in this app my mobile number is my unique ID (registration through mobile number only), all my bitcoin transactions and withdrawals are linked to my mobile number and I can send bitcoin to any Zebpay user by entering their mobile number, works like a bitcoin whatsapp wallet Grin

There is M-Pesa, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Pesa

A mobile phone based payment system. Users can send and receive funds through SMS, no internet connectivity required. I don't think a mobile based, offline, SMS based transactions system would be feasible for bitcoins.

I just found out that there is something like this, is it because I lack information or is this a new system?
But I see it is a convenience because the transaction is enough to use sms only.
Because we also know that by using sms clearly more simple. Hopefully can penetrate my country too, just waiting for the cellular provider willing to cooperate.

in my country we have an app, that uses your mobile number in order to register, that app also gives you an online bitcoin wallet, though it is not really connected with your mobile number, you cannot access the app without it, I think the technology for your wallet and your mobile number is not that impossible, however I still do own a desktop wallet, and I keep my bitcoins safe in that wallet, I only use my online wallet, whenever I am travelling, since the app also converts fiat to bitcoin, once you have replenished the money wallet, you can easily convert it to bitcoin, whenever you see the price goes down, for you to have a bargain. I think when the time comes that bitcoin wallets are connected to your mobile number, the pros will be, you can easily get notified during transactions, it will just be like the banks notification from time to time, whenever a transaction is happening, the cons will be, once they have stolen your phone they might get an access to your bitcoins or in any case if you try to change your number, there is a tendency that you hard earned bitcoins might be lost, since it is connected with the number and a new security will be made, just to make sure your number is safe, however i believe telephone companies will not allow that, they might be in trouble for system hack or an inside job, since we are talking about bitcoins here, you can never tell if people would want to get their hands on your bitcoin, since they can have an access through you mobile. I believe that technology is not far from happening, but I hope many will not rely on their mobile number to be the security for their bitcoins, we do have wallets and only you should have access to it, just don't throw away your key and make sure it is not known by others for your bitcoins not to be stolen.

I knew a wallet that required a mobile number to get in, but it acts as a security only I guess not to transfer coin to one another or paying someone using it. So I guess mobile number can be only used to protect us and not for payment. And for me it is not a good idea.

I disagree with this .. because connecting to your cell phone number does not help aunt .. it also threatens your bitcoin. Hackers can use your cell phone number to access personal information and steal and execute fraudulent schemes. I enjoyed the anonymous feature of this bitcoin making this feature useless.
