I am really getting tired of poor communication for things like this. Why do they not simply provide a time or block number? So many people are trying to figure out if this has happened or it is has not and there is no communication or announcements from them. Sure it is not a huge deal but I have quite a few ETH hanging out in GDAX I could simply move over to my MyEtherWallet and get a few OMG for free. Should I bother now??

It's definitely a snapshot at a point in the past. There's no point in buying ETH now or moving off exchanges now... the snapshot is in the past:

"In OMG’s case, 5% has already been set aside from the total issuance (see sale doc), ready to be distributed by an automatic airdrop. That is, sometime quite soon (TBA soon), every address on the Ethereum blockchain that held a balance over a minimum threshold of 0.1 ETH at a recent past block height (TBA soon) will receive a share of this 5% that is proportionate to their share of ETH."

And it's not going to be a huge amount of OMG anyway, I work it out as $1 or so of OMG per 3 ETH (see my post earlier in this thread).

No, every ethereum will worth $0.2 of omisego. That was not a lot of amounts but it seems to give a lot of contribution for thereum holders. I remember someone worth around 700k ethereum will have gotten $100,000 worth of omise go and that was a lot of amount.

well i think not, because only really huge ETH holder will have enough OMG to manipulate market. and this big ETH holders seems will be very intrested in PoS in action on OmiseGo example..You know what I mean ? It is unlikely world innovative corps like Samsung or Intel will drop new project so fast.Its could be otherwise even spike in the price.

The scam is the website linked above - that was created as a way to get peoples private keys from their ETH wallets to steal their coins. Although I do not think we have confirmation yet that the airdrop snapshot has already taken place or if it has not. I am unable to find good details on this anywhere.
