I have two Sapphire 7950's that I thought I could fit into an old computer.  I was wrong.  Any suggestions on what to do with them.  I offered to set this up for my 70yo father who is a retired economics professor.  He ordered the cards for me to deal with before he left for a trip to Ireland with my aunt.  I need to know what the most affordable/or effective rig design would be.

if they physically don't fit you might want to look into using risers.

They physically don't fit.  But they also do not seem to be playing well with my father's three year old motherboard.  The screen image started looking bad with flickering horizontal green lines.  I tried each card individually, but each caused the same problem.  They did successfully pull the hashrate that I was expecting individually. (about 500)

Find a cheap case on CL.
Get a 700+W power supply
Transfer to new case, 3 YO MOBO shouldn't be a problem if it has 2 16x PCIe's.
