Neo has entered the top 10, the mandarin project is good enough for the long term, I regret selling my coin under 100k sat, now the price of this coin is amazing plus the bitcoin price is very high

I am always a bit suspicious when there is such a rapid increase in price. Neo has come close to $1 Bn market capitalization. And it has risen very quickly. I won't risk my money on this one.

I would like to know more about the "sharding" feature in Neo. On their website, they claim they have solved it, but I didn't find more informations in other languages than Chinese and also a Reddit thread about the topic contains no information. If someone knows about a link, I would be glad if you post it here ...

Anyway: NEO belongs to the class of "semi-centralized" cryptocurrencies with a Byzantine-style algorithm similar to DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake). This approach has the flaw that it can be attacked by social engineering more easily than traditional Proof of Stake or Proof of Work.

So Ethereum and other smart-contract capable coins like Qora and Burst are definitively more decentralized and more close to what I consider a "cryptocurrency", while NEO is more close to Ripple, Bitshares and - at the end - Paypal.

I'm going all in with NEO, pity that I was going to join when it was still Anshares at 3$ but backed out with doubt.

I think it is a very solid coin, and one of the top contenders of 2017. It is a custom blockchain done in C#, supports smart contracts (written in C# too, devs dont need to learn a custom language like Solidy).
Also it is capped unlike ETH, which pratically forces the price to up long term. Besides that owning NEO generates GAS that can be sold, so thats too a solid plus.

Currently the only western exchange with it is Bittrex, but once it hits larger exchanges it will bloom ever more.

Top 5? are you not seeing it again? I meant the correct place is top 10 of coinmarketcap. But NEO just like private ether for the chinese region. The team looks professional. I like how the chart of NEO goes.
But what do you mean about the NEO GAS? I don't ever hear about that, is that a part of the NEO project too?

Mark my words, NEO will surpass ethereum. Someone save this and post this all over the world after it happens.

Main reason im saying this is because NEO has a limit and ethereum doesn't.

[im not an expert] i dont agree that NEO wil surpass Ethereum, the rapid increase of NEO right now are a bit suspicious, otherwise as far as i know it is not decentralized unlike Ethereum. but hearing that the dev is spreading it out NEO will be more popular ...good luck

i bought some for chump change a while ago just for play with penny crypto.  I sold it after I their wallet wouldnt' load anything at all and kept showing 0/0 blocks and I didn't want to leave money in exchanges -- it's loading today when it's $20+

But what do you mean about the NEO GAS? I don't ever hear about that, is that a part of the NEO project too? 

There are two built-in system assets: NEO and GAS. NEO represent the ownership of the blockchain, which is used for electoral accounting, to obtain GAS dividends, etc. GAS represents the right to use the blockchain, and are used to pay fees of various systems on the chain.

NEO is not that new. Antshares is rebranded into NEO.

I used to to use antshares wallet before. Now since they did the rebranding I downloaded this new NEO wallet. However when I run it it tries to do the syncronization from scratch again! Is there a way to prevent this? I don't want to do it again. https://neo.org/ seems to be down so I can't check it there (I guess too big overload or something).
