Equihash overclocking. Core or memory??

Hello all.
Recently I started to mine Zec. I have two GTX 1080.

Currently settings are
PL: 60%
temp: 75C
core and mem are in stock settings
Using EWBF miner, I am getting about 480 sol/s each card. So in total around 950 sol/s. Seems like it's pretty low hash rate.

Now I am trying to OC and my question is Equihash algorithm CORE intensive or MEMORY intensive??

I started mining zcash today using EWBF and have been playing with the settings for hours.  I've found that both core and memory need to be boosted for best performance.  I'm using GTX 1070's and getting over 470 per card so your 1080's should be getting higher hash rates than mine.  I currently have my core at +170 and memory at +375.  I've confirmed that lowering either the core or memory will reduce rates, so from my experience, both are needed.  I also set intensity to 64 on all cards.

Why is the temperature so high at enough low power limit?
I've Palit GRP GTX1080 and got about 600 sol/s on equihash (Win7, EWBF 0.3.4b, core/mem 2080/5500, power consumption about 180W)

I am getting an average of 250 Sol/s with my two R7 260x OC (2Gb)
I've overclocked GPU Clock and memory clock, both do make a difference, Equihash is a memory intensive algorithm, quoting from their website.

Equihash is a memory-oriented Proof-of-Work, which means how much mining you can do is mostly determined by how much RAM you have.

GTX 1070 overclocking: contrary to the opinions I read around for Equihash overclocking, I just discovered that keeping the core clock at factory (or even -5Mhz) and aggressively  overclocking the memory (+650MHz) increased my rate from 440 Sols/s to 470 Sols/s

My card: MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8Gb, -5/650 180W card, 260W total PC power measured at the wall (i7 2600K with 8GB RAM), miner EWBF 0.3.4b, Win10 64bit

That is too much power in my opinion. That card can do 440 Sol/s at +150 core (running about 1780-1822 MHz) and VRAM running at 8400 (there's really no need to push it more). And this at 55% power limit, using 120W. 30 extra Sol/s for 60W is just a waste of power.
