I would do your due diligence - look at the dev team, problem they are trying to solve with their coin and how they will do so. What's their potential? Market cap potential? How many coins will they be releasing? How? This is great work but it's what you need to do if you want succeed!

That's the main problem for investors. There are projects which looks pretty good from outside but in reality we see scams. Problem is that both, scam and real ico have to look like real and professional. Most scammers have enough skills to make everything perfectly and believe people in their ico. You can't determine which is real and which is scam, you need to make a lot of research about team, their members and etc

How ? you must check their backgrounf starting from their timeline or previous works if none go start with their CEO and members then to their roadmap and whitepaper. Study their whitepaper if you see a good project then it would might be a good ico .trust your gut instinct but first research their projects .

It is really hard nowadays to distinguish whether an ICO is a scam or not. Yes, you can do your own research, check the dev team who's creating it and check their white paper but all of those can be faked especially now that we have the technology to do it. Investing in an ICO puts you in a huge risk and the thing that you can only do is just put your money that you are willing to lose. You can pray that the ICO that you will choose will not with your money but it is still 50/50. That's the nature of cryptocurrency. You just have to deal with it and be prepared for the worst.

not too easy to find a good one because we cant truly say that it was legit, some ICO do reason to keep that they are not scammer so sometimes there have a big problem but members belief that there has a problem even not.

Rule #1: Invest only what you can afford to lose. Rule #2: Never forget about rule number 1 (cuz if you start losing and dont remind yourself about rule #1, you will get into depression real fast and it will kill you inside out)
Crap out of the way. Do your own research as other people suggested. Don't put your money into something just cuz someone told you to do so.
High reward comes with high risk aka ICO and altcoin. I wouldnt call all of them scam, there are many reasons why ICOs and altcoin might not end of being successful. 90% of the startups FAILS these are no different.
trust? it's mainly opinion based when it comes to alt and icos.
"I know this x guy personally a great guy, he is a great CEO. I trust him. He wants to go to Mars in 5 years that's what he is trying to sell" I trust the guy but iffy abt the product. You get the point. The only outcome is going to be opinion based. If the product does get some success, it wont be an ICO anymore....it's a gamble at the end of the day.

Yes I agree, a lot of ico popping up, seen they are only thinking about the benefits alone. Not thinking about the future of the project itself.

You should read their whitepapers to find out the future of ico that will be developed and how their project works, see how serious dev with his project, whether there is an escrow to secure your investment and see first how the response of others, especially responses that understand the project or you can search for a pro person and ask them for advice with a private message.

Well it depends on the project you are joining. That is why you should know every project you are supporting. If you do not know the theme and the concept behind the project you're supporting then you are doing an immoral work and could lead you not trusting the ico/project.

I think campaign bounty is free way to get coin, it's good but of course, we can see the dev team, manager campaign, and escrow. But sometimes that way only get scam/ dump coin, make stress. But no one knows which one can be trusted, just follow the campaign and face the risk. Do the job and pray the result. Good luck.

Rule number one looks like some self excuse to shave the sheeps for that much as they can afford. Contravener perspective applied here. By a rule of thumb there are several red flags waving around any scammy ICO. Whitepaper of course, count buzzwords. General approach of the afford. People involved, where are their faces and how do they appeal to you? Many small signs.

Before you join the Altcoins Bounties. Investigate and research Investigations as you know it is true and do not fool because you have all the effort tired of posting if it is just a scam and you will not pay. To find out if you are in good path You are in a company and know the leaders have good goals in the future

You need to follow the X-files policy when you are dealing with ICO: trust no one.
If you can get your coins from giveaway or bounties better, because you won't put money or eve worse, Bitcoins in risk.

That is now the difficult thing investors should be trying to do something with. Scams are not outright scams in their appearances. Otherwise, their motives will get burnt immediately and earn nothing in return. Scams then should look like totally legitimate projects, made with careful efforts and marketing. What we should do now is to exert more efforts in our due diligence. A little digging is really needed here. Research is needed now more than ever. Or else we are throwing away hard-earned money. In the end, if there is a little doubt, avoid the ICO altogether.

In my opinion, it is actually wise to dig deep about a certain project before you can make your actual investment. Research about it so that you don't end up dumping your funds in the ocean. Ensure that the following documents are brought forward all the times: whitepaper, technical if available, roadmap. There are some ICOs which are good in my opinion, Dimcoin, social, opus etc.
