Hello,

I am relatively new to bitcoin, and I am trying to set up cold storage.  Based on the research I have done looking around, people seem to recommend Armory the most.  So I have decided to try Armory.

On my first attempt - I made a stupid mistake... I downloaded Armory 93.3, because that was the newest one I saw with a link to an OS X download.  I couldn't get it to go online, and I went back to the website, and noticed my stupid mistake... There is a download link for version 95.1 on Mac OS X.  So i uninstalled the older one, downloaded the new one, and it won't even launch.  I double clink the app and nothing happens.  I tried opening the app in terminal and nothing.

I did also end up downloading Bitcoin Core/BitcoinQT and that software has installed on my system and seems to be running fine so far.

I found a thread on here that said to open the package contents and make my way eventually to a "ArmoryUtils.py" file (sorry, don't remember the exact path off the top of my head).  Once there, I am to edit a specific line of code, but the post I saw wasn't extremely clear on whether I was to replace the existing line of code, or if I was supposed to add the new code to a specific section, or what.  I consider myself pretty computer savvy, but this was beyond my comfort level.  I made a back up of the ArmoryUtils.py to my desktop, in case I needed to replace it again later (which I did - thankfully I had the foresight on that backup).  I tried replacing the code a couple of different ways - replacing the line of code, putting it before that line of code, putting it after that line of code, etc. None of those ways seemed to fix the problem of not being able to launch Armory.

SO here I am to ask for the internet's help.  If anyone could help me with some pointers on how to get Armory set up, it would be greatly appreciated!

Bitcoin Client Software and Version Number: Is this Armory 95.1?  Or is Bitcoin Core 0.14.2 the correct information here?
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.12.2
System Hardware Specs:4.01 GHz Intel Core i7, 64GB RAM, more hard drive space than necessary
Description of Problem: See above
Any Related Addresses:
Any Related Transaction IDs:
Screenshot of the problem:
Log Files from the Bitcoin Client: Where would I find this?  I can provide if they are being created and I know where to look for them.

Are you on the right website? current version is 0.96.1... The correct place for downloading is here: https://btcarmory.com

(note: bitcoinarmory.com is the "old" website and is no longer updated due to a change in "ownership" of Armory)

Thank you for this.  I found the download for 96.1, but I am still having problems.  Alas, I also too-late realized that Armory specific questions belong somewhere elese and I am going to head there to ask my next question.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

do you know if Armory 0.96.5 can be installed on macOS 10.14.6 ?

I followed the steps on https://github.com/goatpig/BitcoinArmory/blob/master/README_macOS.md to verify the download file and install it, but many things didn`t work out:

- After step 1 being successful, Step 2 in the guide says: „If everything is successful, execute the following command.
brew install openssl“  -  Here I get „command not found“ - What can I do about this?

- Continuing successfully until step 5, here it says „Verify the SHA-256 hash of the macOS build.“  The only feedback I get here is a square bracket open to the left side, but no confirmation.

- At step 6 „Verify that the SHA-256 hash list was actually signed by goatpig.“  I receive the message „No such file or directory“ and in the second row „verify signature failed: No such file or directory“

- Next thing I did was using OpenPGP to verify armory_0.96.5_osx.tar.gz by using the „Verify Signature of File“ option. This gave me the message: „Verification FAILED:No Signatures found.“

- Last thing I did: Install it anyways. After running, it immediately displayed a huge error message saying: „Armory cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure armory works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application“  etc.

Is there anything I can do to make the latest version of Armory run on a current macOS 10.14.6?

Thank you guys in advance!
