Or any alt-coins?  Meaning, turn our BTC into USD.

The way I've done this is to send Bitcoins to Coinbase and then sell Bitcoins for US dollars and they sent the money to my bank account. You would need to have your bank account linked to Coinbase though. I would convert the altcoins to Bitcoins on an exchange before sending to Coinbase.

An alternative is to use localbitcoins or just find a friend that is willing to buy your Bitcoins for cash.

There are many crytocurrency exchangers platform that you can use to cash out your bitcoin. One of exchanger I use is livecoin.net. The are very good and you can also convert your bitcoin to others crytocurrency like Ethereum, litecoin, ripple, Ethereum classic and Zcash.

In my country can't sell Bitcoin on Coinbase (GDAX market) because they limit us.
So we only can cash out BTC to FIAT via exchanger in my country or find buyer on localbitcoins.

You could also cash out using a Bitcoin Debit card, but you have to be very careful to choose a service with low fees.

Cashing out btc is quiet an easier task due to the existence of more and more trading websites that give different ways to convert bitcoin to fiat and withdraw. Personally in my country localbitcoins is the only website that's been preferred by majority of the bitcoin users.

This really depends on whether you have made profits.  If you have and are happy to pay taxes, use an exchange.  You'll lose a percentage in costs and possibly exchange costs if USD is not your currency but will be liable for taxes (if applicable).  Alternatively, use local bitcoins, Purse.io (for Amazon purchases), bitcoin credit cards etc.  Many ways to skin a cat.

If you are prepared to pseudonymity and pay your taxes, you can go to any exchange in your country.
Otherwise, just wait until bitcoins are so widely accepted that you don't have to touch fiat at all.

That's my goal. I rarely spend any bitcoins, only in an emergency. These are for my retirement and if they end up being worthless it's okay because I have other investments for retirement too.

Go through localbitcoins if you want cash. Or you could always just post an add on craigslist.

I think you asking that, how does the conversion of bitcoin occurs to fiat currency as the bitcoin is virtual and has o physical presence? If so then there is one thing called as "valuable assets". Now you see, over the time bitcoin has been added up with lots of money, if you buy bitcoin then you actually exchange your real paper money and pass it on to the exchanger to wallets. These wallets then assign you equivalent bitcoin which are nothing but the bunch of algorithms. As you have passed on USD they actually have that value in them virtually.

When you cash out or exchange the bitcoin with fiat then exactly reverse happens and this time wallets will be buying your bitcoins for that much USD price and thus keeping the same balance. Thats the meaning of converting BTC into USD.

You can locate a Bitcoin ATM  in your area.  If you are not sure, you can Google Bitcoin ATM and look under maps.  You should see the closest one to you.

Turning BTC to USD has many stages,
#1 Transfer you Coins/Tokens to your preferred trading site.
#2 Then sell it in that site.
#3 When you have USD transfer it to your wallet
#4 Use a wallet that you can take out your money (in the Philippines we use Coins.ph)

Hope i helped you. Grin

Bitcoin ATM's are not available in all country my mate. Only in a limited place, we have this facility. I think if you live in Singapore you have this option to withdraw your BTC in ATM. Other country details I don't know, better you can use the local exchange site to convert your BTC to USD. This is the best and simple option.

I think that would be depend of the country you are residing it mate. Like here in my place I can actually cash out my bitcoinBTC through using coins.ph to convert it into my currency.  So, I think in the other country you can encash it in any exchange were it has a service that they can cashing out your bitcoin to usd.

Turning bitcoins to USD is not a really big deal i guess, but you are probably asking for how to cash them out in the sense of turning them into fiat, because you can easily turn your bitcoins into USD from any bitcoin exchange but they wont send them to you then. So, i would suggest you to use Localbitcoins.com for that purpose, as you can sell your bitcoins to someone there and they will give you fiat in exchange for that.

It's a different story on me here with my country now, so my wallet has the options to directly sell your btc into fiat cash amount, and cash it out to easily through the recommended bank affiliated with the online wallet site. Since from the beginning I am into this bitcoin income I am using this type of transactions, and how awesome comfort it provided me as well.

Despite the fact that I probably lose a lot on the percentage, But I found a very good and quick cashing out Bitcoin. I take out Bitcoin on the WebMoney purse and already there I make an exchange for the currency that I need. And already with WebMoney the conclusion on any bank card. This process is quite fast.

If you are not aware of, you can transfer the funds to Coinbase, associate your bank account and withdraw it directly to it.

Seems to take 3-4 days to process it but seems like a very straight process.

We have different ways depends on location and accessibility.

First look first at exchanges where your country is supported. After that check and test it. The instuctions of how things should be done will be listed on that exchange. Ok to minimize your work, in what country you from?
