I think every newbie in crypto world should buy BTC and then go into alts. I started like this, now i hold around 7 alts plus btc.

Bitcoin shows main trend and other alts keep around. Some of them could go high, some low. It is like a lottery or casino bet.

So if you want invest and not play casino you should buy bitcoins (But you must think with your own brain  )

Wow, that's the worst analogy I've heard of altcoins. Lottery, Casinos and Altcoins? Very little in common.
If you want to invest in altcoins and you don't want to risk too much, invest in some of the top altcoins. NEM, RIPPLE, NEO, ETHEREUM...
Yes, you can invest in bitcoin, but the profit on BTC cannot compare to the one you could get on an altcoin.
BTC is growing, yes, but it's growing slow, in order for you to get 2x your investment, BTC needs to reach almost $8000, which is not easy, as it cannot break the $4000. There are not enough investors to keep it above $4000, so I think it will dip back to $3700.
If you go on an exchange, you can see altcoins increasing by triple digit % every day, that does not happen with BTC.

If I were to invest now, I would invest my money to bitcoin. Bitcoin is gradually increasing from time to time. And a lot of people are considering bitcoin like a gold, it's a good investment to keep for a long time. I also think that it's really good to have BTC, because a lot of people are expecting it to grow up to 3x before the year ends.

I do not disagree that bitcoin is good to have, but its also good to be diversified, and consider other options.

Why not buy Digibyte or Siacoin? They are cheap right now.

Go for both, these two coins are in my choice now. You can put $50 for digibyte and another $50 for siacoin. There's a lot of people in a certain group on facebook that I joined that digibyte will be a great coin in the near future and as well as siacoin, so just buy for these two coins and $100 is a good amount to invest which we can afford to lose.

You can really go for DGB and SC. I also trust these two coins. Well, there are several other trusted coins out there like XVG, Strat, and Ripple. DGB and SC are worth investing. But you have to wait until next year for them to fly. They are very cheap right now.

i already have dgb and sc, its a good coins for long term. vxg, strat, ripple is also good coins to invest. we can buy that coins while the price is in lower price and soon the coins will be increase after btc have a good position on the market. bitcoin itself is trying to reach stable price first before its increase more.
