Slow hashrate with no monitor, do I need a dummy plug?

While a monitor is connected to the card that is attached to the PCIEX16_1 slot with a riser, I get full speed on all cards (29.2 Mh/s).

- If I connect the monitor to another card, I get 4 Mh/s on the PCIEX16_1 card, and full speed on the others.
- If I disconnect the monitor, I get 22-23 Mh/s on all cards. Why?

I want to run it without a monitor, and just remote control it. Is there some setting to fix this? I suspect that the OC-settings don't kick in if there is no monitor, similar to when I connect the HDMI cable to the internal GPU.

Or do I need a dummy HDMI plug, that I read about somewhere.

I don't think dummy plugs have been needed for about 4 or 5 years.  If you did need one, the GPU wouldn't be detected at all.

Hmm, ok. What can the be a fix for the slow hashrate without a monitor? Seems kind of wasteful to get a monitor for each rig

I have used HDMI plug as well as no plug at all.

Both does not affect hashrate.

Must be something wrong with your system.

GPU rigs are fickle creatures.  It's possible you're loosening something when you disconnect the monitor, or something else along those lines.  Whether or not it is plugged in should not effect hashrate if your system is up to date.
