5-10k for marriage? hell no. i can earn that amount in just 3 months but marrying someone you love is a lifetime imprisonment.

Not sure about legality, but 10k doesn't seem to be that much for 5-year trouble, particularly if you don't know the person you're marrying and her character quirks, bad habits...

A friend of a friend married a Russian in London for £250 and a KGB raincoat. I still have the coat. They never met again and got divorced a while after. This was a long time ago though. They seem to be far stricter now and they have the internet to snoop at you.

I'd be more worried about her trying to drain you of your finances during the divorce rather than The Man catching you. And are they providing the back story and evidence you're a couple? It's not just a case of rocking up, getting hitched and her waltzing off with her green card. They take a lot of convincing.

I would not do it if i were you because its illegal and when the divorce is going to happen she might go after your money and home etc and its also for such a long time that you can easily earn it any other way.

Imagine someday you meet that special person who you really want to marry and spend your whole life with...and she find's out about (1) -you've been married before and (2) - the reason you married before (for $$$)...and she drops you like a ton of bricks

They are pretty good at catching fake couples. If you end up living like roommates for awhile and get to know her, it might pass as a real marriage. If they can prove that it was a pure sham marriage, there may be criminal penalties.

Have your deals off phone calls and chats so he/she doesn't have a leverage to blackmail you.
Go ahead with the deal, extra 10k wouldn't be bad, also people fall in love mysteriously.
You guys might end up falling in love and having beautiful kids.
