Why are you need confirmation of my ownership? You can use escrow, so no problem is here. Also you have confirmation from ThickAsThieves for success deal with me for xxx shares.
400 already sold truth John K., but we have no confirmation from friedcat yet.

Because if I have proof of your ownership I don't need to pay for escrow and it makes the share cheaper for me which might mean higher auctions.
I just have to check that you didn't sell all your shares to someone else: there's no way someone can fake owning ASICMINER shares he hasn't if he proves being in control of his ASICMINER address by signing a unique message with it.

I sold some of my shares like that: my buyers didn't use escrow although one of them initially requested it, the whole process was transparent and there was no way I could have cheated them. As I signed everything and made all transactions public they had the means to prove to friedcat that they acquired the shares from me even if I had refused to make the transfer/died/whatever...

Only thing I can confirm, that I had AM shares on 2013-05-15
today is 2013-05-18
for that 3 days I could sold all my shares privately, got friedcat confirmation and my BTC
and after that you still will think that I still have shares, because of 2013-05-15 confirmation.
So, this is possibility to cheat, even with proof you ask.
I don't want to give that proof, because I don't want to demonstrate my address.

Before posting that I "have no imagination" you should have searched for my auction, how it was handled and how I addressed this particular problem and others too.
In short as long as friedcat gives priority to transparent auctions scams can only be done through private messages. As he is the de-facto trading platform it's in his own interest to give priority to transparent auctions to avoid being involved in scams.

Anyways if you don't want to disclose your address it's fine I can understand that.
