We can only predict how will bitcoin work and how much its price is till then. I think you can't really do an all in in bitcoin because it is a volatile coin, but surely you can invest in whatever you want to risk  to lose.

Why again you want a ethereum to be compete with bitcoin. Nowadays even bitcoin cash seems like nothing in front of bitcoin. I see today value is been turned to 4000$ and above. Whenever price moves up, we speaks about hard fork can be expected in future.

It's very possible that bitcoin will see 40,000$ one day but I don't know if it will happen in the time frame you predicted. Don't get me wrong bitcoin has proven me wrong time in time again. Ethereum however is nothing to be compared with bitcoin and I think it's way overvalued. It's true worth could be 0.

things are just getting started. people are always happy during rallies and when price is going up and like always as soon as the rise stops even if it doesn't fall they start being depressed about it for some weird reason!

in any case bitcoin has been on the path to at least $10000 for a very long time. and those who have seen this have been accumulating bitcoin on every turn as much as they can. and each month we can afford to buy less bitcoin as it becomes more expensive because more people figured this out!

This will always happen, when one day bitcoin reach $7000, people will say: buy bitcoin now because then it will be very expensive.

As ETH i have nothing to say, i read somewhere that in the future could be very expensive, unfortunately i can not remember where i read and i do not remember why  they believe that this is possible

The implementation of Segwit will increase the economics and speed of smaller transactions. This will increase participation.
GBTC may be approved for NYSE trading. This will allow institutional investments. The estimated IPO won't be enough to supply the demand. Current holders will be converted and should not have to wait after the IPO to invest.
Wall Street awareness is just starting. Many old school analyst still don't have a clue of what Bitcoin is.
And finally, the alt gamblers will convert back into Bitcoin after the steam runs out of their pump and dumps.

I don't know if we're going to see Bitcoin reaching $40,000 within the next few years, but it definitely has the chance to explode upwards as more people get involved, especially if there is more demand on par to what we're seeing in Japan right now. If that can happen, then $10,000 by the end of next year would not be impossible, but $40,000 would be stretching it. It takes more money to push it higher up, and there isn't always that kind of money interested in investing.

I think it is too early to open a thread for $40,000 specially when we even did not reach 10% of that yet $4000 ! I do believe that we will get there in the future . Maybe better close this thread and open a thread about $5000 then $6000 and so on first and then bump this thread when we get to $39,000

I believe bitcoin is possible to go that high. BTC price is unpredictable and it is volatile, so it's hard to speculate until when and how high will to up. For me bitcoin is the best investment. Maybe by the end of the year it's price will double. So, it's better to buy and keep all the bitcoin that you can and wait for the big price hike.

Foreseeing what will be Bitcoin's price is a very speculative game for us since the beginning. But one thing is for sure, its price is gradually increasing every year and I have no doubt that it will reach $40,000 some day. We just don't know what would be the time frame for it to reach that price. Always expect corrections here and there and try to buy the dips if you have any extra money. BTC will be worth more that it is now in the future.

I agree I think it will take years before it reach to $40,000 btc. Though price is continue increasing but it will take time to reach at that price. For me it is good to invest in bitcoin because I know price will skyrocket though ofcourse it's a risks.
