Now that BTC is above $100, is it time to reconsider the amounts for Donator status?

I'd like to donate something, but I can't afford 10BTC for donator status.

Hmm, that is interesting.

Bitcoin has really grown since they changed the donation value, maybe it would get more people to donate too.

10BTC is a LOT now.

Asked many times before, AFAIK it's not going to change.

Lower ranks will be added, but keeping those donations static will help stabilize Bitcoin in the long run. If you want Bitcoin value fluctuations to stabilize, then stop fluctuating Bitcoin prices to the dollar in general. Fluctuation would stop immediately.

I agree 10 bitcoins is absolutely outrageous at current prices.  I think 1 btc is more reasonable.

Also, I don't understand the post above.  What does "stop fluctuating prices to the dollar in general" mean?

You can still donate, but you want it so everyone sees you donated right? Yeah another person just wants the rank to show he is better than the average joe.

It means the donator price is pegged to BTC, not to a dollar value.

Ah, I get it, and I agree pegging the donator prices/levels to BTC is a reasonable idea. It just sounded like he was saying we should peg the btc price to the dollar and that is basically impossible to do.

Actually it is. Just use BitPay's API and it syncs to MtGox latest price.
