I think it's too early for real 1 billion ICO because the technology is not proven yet. Are some of these companies currently potentially worth over a billion? Potentially. We need to see actual products and real use cases, otherwise its all smoke and mirrors.

status, bancor, BAT these type of icos caused a big crash because they raised too much money too fast. If there was real oversight then people wouldn't have lost so much value When the ICO tanked

You are damn right $1 Billion ICO's are coming, Billionaire Token ICO starts this week.

I don't think you will make a $1B off it but it does seem like a very easy x10+ on the ICO price when it hits the exchanges after the ICO ends.

I think www.Swarm.fund may well be the next event to top the token sales chart on Sept 7th.  They have partnered with established profitable external funds in verticals like Distressed Real Estate (30% IRR) and more to invest the sales funds in immediately.  After the token sale they plan to raise over $2bn in the next 2 years to scale out into these and more funds. Worth a look!

Swarm.fund have neatly designed their token sale to prevent these types of crashes, by implementing a drip liquidity provision where tokens are received in 1/8th tranches every 42 days. So huge hedge fund prebuys designed to crash the market and elicit cheap tokens from the weak hands would need to be 8x larger that normal to affect the public secondary markets.    In addition, www.Swarm.fund already have a product and real use cases where partners funds are waiting to have capital deployed to them immediately... launching the foundations income stream almost immediately.

The things people buy into these days..

Deflationary gambling tokens? AI tokens? Everything is being packaged as an ICO and sold unwittingly to the masses.

Once these projects fail it will affect ETH and even BTC value, scary.
