中华民国国防部8月13日表示，今天上午中共的2架运八型机由台湾南部防空识别区外，经巴士海峡向东北航行，执行远海长航训练。这是8月份，中共军机第3次绕经台湾东部海面。
日本防卫省9日公布中共空军一架运8电战机从巴士海峡经西太平洋北上，自东面绕行台湾。
台湾国防部12日发出新闻稿表示，当天上午中共的各型机多架进行远海长航训练活动，其中一批轰六与运八型机由台湾南部防空识别区外、经巴士海峡向北航行，穿越宫古海域再返回原驻地。此外，另一批中共的空警200及苏30型机执行伴护任务，由台湾南部防空识别区外，穿越巴士海峡后，即循原路线返回驻地。
台湾国防部13日说明，中共两架运八型机今天由台湾南部防空识别区外，经巴士海峡向东北航行，穿越宫古海域期间由2架苏30战机伴护飞行，再飞返原驻地。
台湾国防部强调，国军对共机活动，均能全程掌握并已经采取适切之应处作为，护卫国土安全，吁请国人安心
