any idea if i can get a wallet on my i phone or how i could pay for goods using it.
I have convinced a local shop to start taking btc but dont want to change my phone to pay him.

Could you use the blockchain.info wallet on your browser app?

You can use blockchain (app) on an iPhone.  I always hear of people saying that it only works if you have an older version of blockchain or older iOS but I've upgraded multiple times and I always have full functionality.  Download it from the app store.
