Alright, what I need info about is listed under rn:

1. Size? How big is this miner?
2. When is payment happening? Is it instant or what is the limit?
3. Is there anything else I need than this miner and power?

-size 3/4 of standart keyboard Smiley
-payments depending on pool and your setting. you can set them what you want but most of them has a treshold
-also you need an internet connection Cheesy and a computer for configuring your miner

Thanks, but do you  know a server I should use and what is it limit? I saw on a bitcoin calc that this miner makes 0.008988 BTC every month

i mined @ slushpool before i sold my asics
https://slushpool.com

the payout treshold is 0.001 btc but under 0.01btc withdraws more 0.0001btc additional miner fee.
Quote
When your balance crosses the threshold value, the pool sends it to your payout address
It is possible to set this limit as low as 0.001 BTC.
An additional fee of 0.0001 BTC applies to payouts lower than 0.01 BTC.

s5 or s7 depends how much you pay for electricity.
s5 hashes 1150Ghs needs 590watt 1.9G per watt
s7 hashes 4700Ghs needs 1210watt 3.88G per watt
comparing results s7 more effective for s5 (almost double)

and all of these bitmain products have a controller card on each asic miners needed wired internet connection.

Hi there,

S5's are a nice get your feet wet unit, I started with them a few months ago, and have been lucky enough to unload most my units to upgrade.

One thing you will want to check on as well is your power supply, the S7 requires 205V+ , where as the S5 runs off a regular 110V circuit. Which makes them a simpler setup.

I recommend the S5 for figuring out if Mining is for you just to get the feel of things, if it turns out you like it and have access to higher voltages you will find yourself upgrading sooner rather than later.

As far as a pool I used bitcoin.com pool as they had been offering 10% bonus on payouts but have since stopped. They are simple and user friendly.

Hope this helps good luck.

why you not buy S9 antminer? hashing faster than S7, and price also cheap.
do you have antminer product now?

You don't need one because the only real difference most miners need to know is that the S5 and S7 are both on 28nm processes and have last-gen efficiencies and the S9 builds on that with 14nm and better efficiency. The S5 was the last model of Antminer that used the last generation case style and had less dense heatsinks compared to the S5+ and onwards.

One thing to take into concideration is the ENORMOUS noise levels the S5 and S7 puts out. The fans runs at 3000 RPM minimum and sounds like a 80-s vacuum cleaner. I hope that IF you buy any of these miner that you have a co-location for them. Or earplugs to keep the noise away Cheesy

If you have cheap electricity AND can get a hold of the S5 very cheap it might be an ok start. The S7 is as previously members stated a bit better regarding hashes contra consumption.

What the hell are you talking about? Both miners run on 12v power. It is the POWER SUPPLY that you either need 110 or 220 power for, it has nothing at all to do with the miner.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Sorry, in my limited experience, I found that the power supplies required to run the s7 would require you to run off a 205+ volt circuit, to remain efficient and safe and reliable  for the load on the circuit. I have seen set ups running from 2 different outlets to supply power to run s7's off of 110v.
As you have more experience feel free to point him in the direction of efficient affordable reliable power supplies that will run off 110v supply for an s7.

For OP
Either way whichever of these you buy, you will probably find yourself upgrading to a more powerful miner sooner rather than later, or deciding that mining is not for you.
Good luck and happy hashing.
