The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Calm down first. Smiley There are many ways to convert your coins to fiat money.You can use exchange websites like kraken or use this forum to find someone who does this exchange.Either way they will take % commission but doing this with a person that you don't know might be dangerous they may have try to scam you so be carefull and use escrow services.

what are escrow services, also are there any exchanges offhand that deal with paypal? would like to be able to send directly to paypal

You can sell BTC, ETH and LTC at Coinbase and they will let you transfer USD to a PayPal account that matches the info in your account. The fees are ridiculous though, something like $10 for $200. I use the Shift Visa debit card that connects to your Coinbase account and lets you spend BTC anywhere Visa is accepted with no conversion fees. You can also withdraw up to $200 at any ATM for a flat $2.50 fee or get cash back at a register for free.
