This might be obvious to most of you, but there are a lot of people who are offering bots, exchange "alarms", widgets, apps and the rest that will supposedly "help" you with your trading, or see the price and so on. most of These are just wallet stealers in disguise, that will at best steal your funds and at worst steal your coins and FUCK up your computer.
I have seen many have their funds stolen after downloading such stuff. If someone is frantically messaging you trying to get you to download this SUPER AWESOME BOT/MTGOX ALARM, etc. DONT DO IT.
There is a lot of scamming going on like this in Btc-e, among other places. Don't be another victim. also, make a secure password with numbers and letters and symbols. *&1Ruf12)(#ff!! would be a good password, don't give them something easy to crack. Best of luck out there.
addendum. Now don't get me wrong there are some things like the night extension for btc-e, and online wallets and faucets that are made by genuine people that aren't out to scam you, but listen to your gut, and be on the safe side always. NO ONE GIVES AWAY BOTS, anyone asking for your email address, or wanting you to click on a link and phish out your login info, WALK AWAY. After awhile you will see who you can trust and who has been around the scene for awhile. Another thing, someone can spam hundreds of posts a day and look like a hero member on here, that does not give them ANY credibility. Beware

Bump for noob awareness. If this saves one person from getting their coins stolen, then it's worth it

This is a really meaningful thread, but I am sure 90% of the people here are sane enough to not download strande DLL's or "bots" I hope..

If you have that bot Scan it on malwr.com and virustotal for analysis.

That is most definitely not a bot. In fact, that "bot" is the reason i made this thread. Don't download.

Unless you know the person IRL, trust no one.
Exactly. Never ever download a bot, an app, an alarm, a Chrome plugin or anything that hasn't come with the reassurance of a collection of people who've tried and trust it. Not even 'FREE BITCOINS!' sites, and absolutely never log into anything that isn't a direct link to your exchange. You are your own bank, so act like one. Nothing goes into the vault (your PC) that hasn't been proven reliable.
