I'm sorry if this is redundant but I can't figure it out. I'm using the online/web wallet (not the local/PC wallet)... how do I claim GAS I've earned?
I go to "Claim"... It's showing "Available Gas" as zero and a balance under "Unavailable Gas" (I only have about 2 GAS at this point btw).
There is a green Claim button I hit (you'd think that would do the trick)... but nothing happens... GAS still unavailable. And there is nothing else obvious as to how to do this. Is there a minimum amount you need before you can claim GAS perhaps?
Any help is appreciated!

But someone just able to claim their gas through the dekstop wallet, i never heard someone try to claim their gas through the webwallet. But you can try to get the method through the antshares's announcement. that will be so easy to claim through the neowallet. |

You have to send your Antshares or Neo to the same wallet address they are already in (send them to yourself). Then you will be able to claim your Gas once that transaction is confirmed.

Thanks. Do I have to send my total balance to myself or can I just send 1 or 2 NEO? Tried (transferring a couple of NEO to myself)... still don't think it's working. I'm using this wallet https://neowallet.cn/ Anyone using this? I also tried transferring 1 NEO back to bittrex an hour ago... it has not gone through. Really not following how this wallet is suppose to work. |

I use neowallet.cn as well. I just sent over the entire amount of NEO to myself again. After waiting a few minutes, the GAS was available to claim!

Just had the same issue.
SOLUTION:
1. Get your private key from the web wallet (neowallet.cn)
2. Download the NEON Wallet (CoZ) and enter your private key from the web wallet
3. Voilà - Claim your gas or whatever

Having a problem using the "privateKeyEncrypted" from my Android wallet to open a NEON wallet to claim GAS. Looking in the backup file I got from it, there are quite a few Keys listed in there, including the above plus a "MasterKey" and a "publicKeyHash". Which one is the correct one to login to the NEON's WIF key?

This isn't great advice but you can buy or leave some NEO on the binance exchange as they will give you GAS once a month based on how much NEO you have on their exchange. However, this breaks the golden rule of not leaving coins on an exchange.

As to "why" it works this way, the gas calculation is a smart contract. As such it must be triggered by a transaction. You have to send the NEO to yourself to trigger the smartcontract. The smartcontract calculates how much "dividend" you should be paid - on otherwords your share of the fees earned by the network on a pro-rata basis.
