How does Bitcoin affect other Crypto?

At this time, its really hard to decide which direction they relate with each other because it varies. Sometimes, it shows to be a direct relationship while other times it can come out with inverse relationship. So it actually depends on the time frame the the comparison is being made.

I have seen times when bitcoin is witnessing an increase in price and the whole alt coin market just continue to get pumped as well and the interpretation will all give be that because of the increase in the price of bitcoin. But for some days now even with high increase in the price of bitcoin, alt coin keeps crashing and now that we are seeing some correction in the price of bitcoin, alt coins are not even doing any better.

While there are some alts as well in which their price is not even dependent on what happen to bitcoin price whether high or low.

Bitcoin has enough effect on other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the largest used cryptocurrency in the world. A lot of people are using this. Following bitcoin a lot of online coins has been launched. They are doing there business well. Their price is dependent on the price of bitcoin. Because this coins can only be traded through bitcoin. Other cause is the user. The price of bitcoin is increasing at high speed but the other's is not as much as bitcoin. So everyone goes for bitcoin. And the loss of user creates the fall of price.

When Bitcoin goes up in price and becomes too expensive for many peoplpe thats when those people start to invest in alt coins.

I think it is rather when there's something that possess a threat to Bitcoin that you find people turning to altcoins for safety other than that, Bitcoin remains the best buy. Since Bitcoin is the unit of exchange for altcoins, a stronger Bitcoin usually translates to weaker altcoins, because it would then require much more of an altcoin to get its previous equivalent in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin affects other coins in many ways. Sometimes when it goes up or down, it drags along other coins with it. But its problem is it's losing its dominance in the cryptocurrency world. Bitcoin cash is gaining more dominant. Now if this keeps going in, I hope the local bitcoin exchanges in my country would open bitcoin cash convertible to fiat money. It would be great.

Bitcoin is the all time high crypto so it must affect the other coins in terms of demand and the price would also be affected. Let me give you and example of my own understand to it, there is a finite number of users and investors (10) , number who wants bitcoin will be 70% (7) and who invested on altcoins is 30%  (3), the value of bitcoin increases as those who buy altcoins will transfer their money on bitcoin because of the price.

and like every people said, when bitcoin price increase, some altcoin price getting down although there is still any altcoin that stable in their price and not following to getting down too. until now, altcoin makes an adjustment with bitcoin price and whenever bitcoin price wants to go, altcoin price will follow the bitcoin movement.

To me am pretty surprised of what happened when the market value of Bitcoin increases from  $3000 to $4,000 or above, other altcoin were seriously goning down which means the movement of Bitcoin has both positive or negative impact on the altcoin.

I think bitcoin greatly affects altcoin, when bitcoin prices pump. overall i saw altcoin prices go down.
and when the bitcoin price is stable. all altcoin start to go up. the point is Bitcoin is very influential on the price of altcoin.

Well alts don't entirely rely on bitcoin's movement because they have their own markets with investore and traders as well. In general of course all of them are linked to btc but it doesn't mean that they're movements  will always be influenced by bitcoin.

It do affect them directly in any mean. If the price of btc increases than you can see that the price of alts decrease and wait a bit than if btc is still stable the alts increase as well and when decrease the alts don`t wait for anything but get dumped.

Almost everyone is holding other crypto coins to sell in high and earn high in Btc, so when ever their is price increase in btc immediatelly you can see that almost all altcoins will be in red due to all traders start to sell their altcoins and convert it to btc so that they can sell btc in high and reap profit.

At present prices of bitcoin are too high compared to other altcoin coin. So when it goes down, it almost pulls the whole market down with it.
