It doesn't effect any other coin bcoz Bitcoin is at the top from so many years and it can't be beaten
The difference in there values gives the answer...
we are talking about the effect of bitcoin to other coins , not the effect of other coins from bitcoin . Anyway , id say bitcoin affect other coins in terms of demand . bitcoin is verry popular , thats why many people will prefer it other than trying out other coins . Though other coins is still more better when it comes to other ourposes such as online transactions or for paying/sending money . So overall , both btc and altcoins are still equal imo because both of them has thier own advantages and disadvantages |

I do not believe that bitcoins affect the price of other coins as well.
It may perhaps happen only if bitcoins start dumping, most of the peoples would have less faith in the cryptocurrencies itself and might start selling their other coins as well.
But you have to remember that exchanges are relying on bitcoin as their main trading pairs so it has definitely has some impact on the market of altcoins. Well we have seen the dumping already from its high to almost $6500, and just look at altcoins, they more than suffered as compare to bitcoin market. Plus, other altcoins holders are shifting to bitcoin to at least mitigate their risk. |

I think bitcoin has a lot of influences on the other coins or altcoins. I believe almost every altcoin takes inspiration from the success story of bitcoin. This is what I have noticed over the years, so the influence can be directly or indirectly when it comes to the market value of most coins.

Obviously yes analysts if bitcoin goes dump what will happen to altcoins price is also dump their price, look at this recent affect of bitcoin crisis all are suppering because bitcoin are in low value.

I have recently been into altcoin trading. I just want to know, does the price of bitcoin affect the price of other cryptocurrencies as well? How? I really want to know. I have noticed that ever since the bitcoin price pumped up and reached 4,000 USD, the price of the altcoins had gone really really low. I almost lost my invesment due to this sudden drop. Does bitcoin price have something to do with this?
because everytime the bitcoin was pumped up the other crypto are affect on it, it was a biggest impact to them because some crypto was falling down |

If you are trading alt coin with bitcoin, then when bitcoin price is going up then alt coin value will go down, that is because you are using bitcoin as the comparison, bitcoin got a huge effect on altcoin
maybe you are right with your opinion bitcoin might be a pioneer of cryptocurrency and until now the price of bitcoin can be said to be the best and the exchange and movement of centralized trade with bitcoin therefore it can be said bitcoin will be the benchmark of other crypto currencies |

you can learn it in the marketcap, look at every bitcoin movement whether it's decline and growth always affects the altcoin below it. this is an analysis that you have to do, well in trading you have to know the crypto background that you will trade. |

yeah thats the nature of altcoin because when the bitcoin price increasing many investors selling thier altcoin then starting buy bitcoin to earn profit, and when the bitcoin is decreasing the price of altcoin is decreasing and we cant do nothing about that because all of altcoin is in bitcoin platform. |

Most of the altcoin are paired with bitcoin so that if the price of bitcoin goes up or down it will really affect the price of altcoin. But, some altcoin are not paired with bitcoin so that there are time the price of bitcoin is high and some altcoin are low. I think the price of bitcoin will determine if the price of altcoin will go up or down. |

I agree with you because most traders who buy cryptocurrencies and trade main ambition is to buy bitcoin with there earnings at the end because it is natural for any one to select a more demanding currency over other when considering long term investments which seems like a common practice these days and also there are lot of scams among cryptocurrency projects and many investors are afraid to put there money on them which is totally different in bitcoin investments so most of the time cryptocurrency prices can fall in these situations |

I agree with you because most traders who buy cryptocurrencies and trade main ambition is to buy bitcoin with there earnings at the end because it is natural for any one to select a more demanding currency over other when considering long term investments which seems like a common practice these days and also there are lot of scams among cryptocurrency projects and many investors are afraid to put there money on them which is totally different in bitcoin investments so most of the time cryptocurrency prices can fall in these situations Bitcoin doesn`t affect other coins, every coins is for itself, separate chains, explorers. Bitcoin can be a trading pair with some coin, but it`s just a pair, you can use bitcoin to buy other coins and vice versa. Before there wasn`t so big choice of pairs, now in 2018 you can just pairs with ethereum, and other coins, not just with bitcoin. Maybe bitcoin was a gold standard before, but those days are coming to an end. There is one point, when bitcoin start to go down, its starting a lot of panic among all other coins, and people start to dump what they have and market decline. People simply think if bitcoin is going down, all others will follow. |

I have bitcoin but also invested in some other crypto and pattern is always the same. When btc price going up, other crypto value also going up, sometimes even faster. When btc price going down, other coins price drop, ussually more than bitcoin. |
