I saw sum antminer s7 vids and they always had something else connected to the power. Is a power suplly thingy really needed or can i just buy the miner and thats all i need ?

Do just the slightest amount of cursory due diligence and you would know that you need a power supply.  The Search button is your friend.  Wink
