When people are so focussed on the money and not on the core business plan, you should see the red flags. If you are serious about the business concept, you would take some time explaining it to future investors, but they are playing around with words to blur the real reason for this, which is money.

Uber is valued on paper at about $50 billion to $68 billion US, so what is the chance of someone going up against that?

OK, now this is definitely a scam...you going to need a lot more than $1 million to beat uber, try like $500 million in a specific market...and even then you may not have enough for the 2nd,or even 3rd market to go after.
