OK, I have been out of the game since they drop from $30 to $20 so a couple years. I had 1 coin on DeepBit since then. I need money and since they are at #123 I decided to grab it.

This is what the transaction shows on DeepBit

Not yet redeemed   1.01   12WmZwdNW8bLsZUkZUNUUt6dAzpxhHnMgT   Address
OP_DUP OP_HASH160 109964631fc58044ffXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX     OP_EQUALVERIFY OP_CHECKSIG

Is the anyway I can get it back? That wallet got corpted but didn't even see a BTC in it.

Thanks

It's in the wallet https://blockchain.info/address/12WmZwdNW8bLsZUkZUNUUt6dAzpxhHnMgT

Back up all versions of that wallet. See if you have an old one from a while ago. Reinstall Bitcoin-qt from scratch, then put the wallet back in it's new installation location. Should scan and fix any problems.

I've fixed a few other users' wallets in the past. If you want, you can send me a copy of it, I'll try to repair it. You make a new wallet, give me the address, and I'll send the coins to the new wallet.

After playing around with it I got it running. I have "out of sync" 0.00BTC and the 27558 blocks remaining. Hopefully it will sync up and I get that BTC. I need that to pay Comcast.

Thanks for your help.

Alright, awesome dude! Yeah the newest version of Bitcoin-qt needs a fresh install IMHO. The blockchain is organized in a different file setup or something now, and it's easier to just reinstall everything and download the blockchain from scratch. Glad it all worked out though.

Ran all night and samething. "out of sync". If I uninstalled and reinstalled, wouldn't I loose my :code". Or is that the wallet.dat? How would I added that if I backed it up and reinstalled?

I can see the address 12WmZwdNW8bLsZUkZUNUUt6dAzpxhHnMgT

But no BTC and "out of sync". for some reason it will not read the blocks. The blocks remaining are higher now then last night. LOL

is it downloading the blocks at all? whats the green bar say at the bottom of the bitcoin wallet? and probably most important whos you ISP?? some ISPs dont like P2P traffic so if the block where downloading and then just stopped the odds are your ISP hates you

a;so try closing the bitcoin wallet wait about 5 mins then reopen it and it might start downloading again

I just copied the wallet from my main system and swapped it with the wallet I installed on my server. Blocks are done and still no BTC or transactions.

I think that wallet on my main system is still corupt, but I am using Comcast and I torrent, so P2P should be fine. I have no issues with the one I am running on my server. I am using the stand alone version on there though.

When I go in to recieve coins the address above is there just no BTC.

I do really appreciate the help you guys are giving.

run bitcoin-qt or bitcoind with -rescan, afterwards you get your coins back!

EDIT: if you cant get it to work and trust my reputation i can send the coins to a new address for free if you want Wink

did you swap the wallet after the blocks had already been downloaded to the server? if so then the wallet hasnt looked for your 12WmZwdNW8bLsZUkZUNUUt6dAzpxhHnMgT address

if that is what you did just open your wallet go to
help
debug window
console
and type in -rescan

it will rescan the block chain and get you your bitcoin

yes, ignore what he said about the debug windows, its totally wrong. you have to put it as argument when running bitcoin-qt.

i guess your a winblows user. if you wanna do this it will take some basic knowledge, for example you could edit the bitcoin-qt shortcut with the paremeters set to -rescan or run it from cmd. since this is outside of your abilities you should take mufa23s or my over to restore it (i havent seen mufa scamming yet Wink)

dam i was hoping it would be simple ok so its time to redownload the block chain again

go to
C:\Users\Windows 7\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
make sure to stick a copy of wallet.dat somewhere safe just incase

and delete all the blk.dat files e.g

blkindex.dat
blk0001.dat
blk0002.dat
blk0003.dat

the run the wallet and go through all the download all over again

also if you cant find APPData press
then go into any file storage like my computer
press "alt" go to tools in the menu bar
folder options
view
and look down the list and click "show hidden files and folder" click ok and then you can see it

Assuming you're using Windows Vista/7, go to the directory where you installed Bitcoin. There should be a file called "bitcoin-qt.exe". Hold the Shift key and right-click in the directory. You should see an option along the lines of "Open a command line here". Click that. Then type:
Code:
bitcoin-qt.exe -rescan
The Bitcoin client should then open up and rescan the blockchain for transactions related to your address.

LMAO, while I wipe a tear from my eye. I went in CMD and started the rescan. It took me awhile to understand you, I haven't done anything in CMD since I went to school for electronics and computer Technology in 2005. I wanted to and tried to get into unbuntu etc but I am a gamer. LOL.

It opened with "rescanning" and after a few minutes it finished and I have 1.01 BTC. I love you and giving you a internet reach around right now. LOL
