Why use Bitcoin for anything other than...?

Demand is uncertain, unknown and unknowable. I still have yet to hear a convincing argument why anyone needs these things other than a money launderer or someone who wants to, say, play internet poker

I came across an almost comical oped article about Bitcoin. The "journalist" sets up some solid click bait with the headline "how you can make easy money from the Bitcoin bubble!" The article is really a rant by someone who doesn't understand any of the underlying principles that brought Bitcoin into existence.

Here's a sample of some of Arends' most inspiring commentary...

A staggering $1.25 billion of “fiat” — i.e., real — money has so far been raised by insiders this year rolling out new “digital coins”

Here’s how it works: A group of kids in hoodies say they’re going to set up a cloud computing venture and let you finance it in return for some of their new digital currency. You send them dollars. They send you new digital currency. If and when they put down the doobies long enough to get the venture rolling, you can use these new digital currencies to pay to use the service.

Let's be honest, most ICOs aren't promising to provide any good or service. BUT...Bitcoin is not an ICO.

A couple of months back I said these cryptocurrencies are nonsense. From a serious investment standpoint that’s true.

Price is a function of supply and demand. At the moment there is an endless supply of new cryptocurrencies. People are literally creating new ones every week.

Arends fails to realize that an endless supply of anything doesn't drive the price upward. I finite supply with steady or increasing demand is what drives price appreciation.

The article is ironic. Arends claims vigorously, but with meager actual constructive argument, that cryptocurrency is an investment mirage whose value is created by little more than mindless speculation. Then he closes his piece with the conclusion that "there is a surprisingly decent chance of easy money."

All of this got me thinking...I'd love to hear your answer to the question "why use Bitcoin?"

Regardless of the every factor , Here i like only one factor that is the simplicity to use to make money .
Since i came across around thousands of the multiple platforms but still never made any better amount of earnings for my pocket , I seen that hardwork I needed much and money i was making was less ,so i this way no much better but when i came across bitcoin then i found that with the less hard work and with small amrt work i can make big earnings here .
Only money is my aim here only .
Beside thid factor that i like after money is the gambling that i made at the the gambling sites like at nitrogensports.eu and other same like , where i can enjoy with my money in trucky way and can also make money in thst game which is not legal in practical life with Fiat currencies .

Right. It is unpredictable especially when demands get high. It is also unstable. I like the idea of bitcoin because it can grow for more. There are cases when it grows fast and I use it for personal matter other than unimportant thing. It is very ussful in terms of emergency needs and basically for food. I know others are using it for gadgets or whatever or is but I am aiming for a better future from this and for upcoming years. I hope this will have a good outcome to my life and for my family.

Bitcoin is the best investment asset available today. Bitcoin has given best returns in less time leaving behind gold, stocks and property. It is least risky than any other asset for investment. I claim that because if we see year by year, the price has always increased. There might be some short term dips but overall it was always in an uptrend and continue to be so. Whosoever invested in Bitcoin and had some patience, would definitely had been profitable. Hence, with Bitcoin risk is minimum if you have patience and avoid panic selling.

In terms of ROI, Bitcoin is to another level. It can make people millionaire in a period of some years.

Honestly, Bitcoin has proved profitable and more simple to looking for, no need to go out home and sweat a lot. If it's not profitable or doesn't have an advantage in it other than others i wouldn't choose bitcoin as a financial income surely. Yes .... Even today Bitcoin can not be compared with gold, gold as the longest commodity as a form of wealth and prosperity standards of a society. the "bitcoin for money laundering" argument is getting too old now. it is almost as old and dumb as the "bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme" argument.
and the author of such articles will only make themselves look foolish when they publish such things in 2017 while people are using bitcoin on physical shops all over Japan to purchase stuff tax free.

It is good practice to review your work before you submit it. However, you are right about the Bitcoins being profitable and easy to earn. You do not need wake up early in the morning, get ready for office and sit there for 8 to 12 hours. It surpasses all other currencies in every imaginable perspect. I'm lovin it!

Why use Bitcoins for regular, everyday payments? I am for the idea that there is no need to if you can use fiat. Fiat is still the most convenient way of paying and everyone accepts fiat. Why would I waste my Bitcoins on buying a coffee?

Forget about buying a coffee. What about buying a new Apple Macbook, which is worth around $2,000? The transaction fee if you use Bitcoin will be around $4 at the most, while Visa is going to charge you at least $7.

There are thousands of stupid people writing stupid articles about bitcoin and all the cryptocurrencies.
We shouldn`t care about them and shouldn`t even argue with them.They think "bitcoin is digital nothing,cryptos are a ponzi scheme".They just don`t understand how it works.
Anyway,to answer your question,bitcoin is used only for gambling and investing,i can`t say that BTC is a currency,it`s an digital asset,but this doesn`t mean that btc is  useless.
Lowering transaction fees and reducing the confirmation time will make btc a real currency.

Wrong information has worse effect than no information. There are many articles that picture bitcoins as useless. However, Bitcoins now fulfill your currency definition also. Uber has started accepting payment in BTC. It is only one example of its use other than gambling and investing and there are many more. As far as transaction fees and confirmation time is concerned, different exchanges offer different rates.

Simply its because we earn money from it . As a poor one bitcoin is life for me because it helps me in my daily expenses and I can do buy those stuffs that I cant buy before. Bitcoin is impossible to forge, but that does not mean that your investment in bitcoin is protected. He may well be a bubble. Those who is at the top of the pyramid earn good money, and everyone else will lose. The last time bitcoin shares and it is a very bad sign.

Why use bitcoins as regular payment? I guess because it is much easier to do this since you don’t need to convert it to money. But I think it is better to use the default money in buying other things and other small transactions because why would I waste my bitcoins for a cup of coffee?
