I have an S9 that's taking 10 minutes to boot to hashing.

Is this normal?   My other Sx boot much quicker.

See the hardware/file info below.

Should I attempt to update the firmware?

I'm not terribly concerned with the slow boot, but I'm more thinking it's a bad filesystem or something causing it to hang.  ?

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

That would be the auto-tune doing its thing upon reboot.  My R4 does the same.
Indeed the previous S models (5, 7) didn't have this and start hashing much faster.

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc
These aren't the Droids you're looking for: S5 & S7 (Sold), R4B2, R4B4 (RIP), 2x S9 obsolete, 2xS15-28, S17-56, S17-70

Its completely normal. I have had machines that take up to 45 minutes to start hashing after a full cold boot power cycle.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I didn't even think of that - thank you - makes perfect sense!  Cheesy

I tried to update - but it failed.  Let me know if you get it to work.  I'd be interested in knowing the boot-to-hashing times on the newer firmware.

Thanks for your time and response!

My apologies - yes, I mean failed to upgrade, however, it's still running on the older firmware.
