I missed my Android days because of this post where everyday Im doing some modifications of SystemUi (signal icons, data, wifi, toggles) etc, Frameworks (batteries, percentage etc), icons (name, handler modifications etc). Yes it's possible and I think right now it's more easier than in the past where the most common tool used was decompiling and it needs only PC. In ICON change you just extract the .apk file and find the icon location (sometimes at framework res folder) and extract it again then signed it.
Ok let's go now to easy method. Heard of APKTOOL? Search it as lots of instructions where already available in the net compare to the time Im doing modifications. You can do ICON and NAME change there and not just that. Just give it a check.
This is right, since I'm doing this also before as a hobby, I tell you that your phone is at risk and it can be boot loop, but of course you need to backup first before doing anything stupid, but you forgot to tell OP, that before you can do that if you are using your Android on modifications, your Android phone must be rooted first.
Oh yes thanks. Being rooted was a prerequisite "if" things will be done mostly on Android. Also it's a must that the phone is rooted if someone wants to learn modifications so that permissions was maximized and people can do all they want.
If a person wants to modify apps without rooting their phone, they can edit the app using a PC application called APK EDIT.
Yes it so so easy dude..without rooting your phone. Using a launcher you can change the name and also the icon on your phone. .i recommend to use nova launcher. Or try to search on youtube theres a lot of app that can help you. If you want more information about nova. Just send me a pm .
OP is talking about direct app changed so if ever another person will installed that apk file, the icon and name is different. I don't know what's OP's up to but that is common thing now especially for Handler Apps grabbing credits to the original owner.
