Just bought first Pre-Made Rig... Keeps Crashing ???

Live in Windsor Ontario, drove 4 hours down to Toronto Picked up Rig. Guys were great helped me set up Bittrex (Wallet / Currency Addresses) and SimpleMining.

They built and had rig going. Took an extra 2.5 hours while I was down there to fix some bugs .. they had a monitor had red error lines. They changed lines of code or lines of input.. Lines removed. They swapped out the motherboard for a 270 Pro board as the other one couldnt handle, 10 GPUs.

So what did I get.

Picked up a GPU Mining Rig.
5x Rx 570 Sapphire Nitro
5x Rx 570 Gigabyte Aorus
Corsair 1000 Power Supply
EVGA 750 GQ Power Supply
cpu no idea which.
ram on board no idea which
Bunch of cables and wires and stuff to hook it all together.

No Hard Drive.
Using a Thumb Drive, Operating on smOS?


The Bad...
7-12 Minutes after being turned on 1 or 2 GPUs will fail and show 0 Hash.
GPU 6 in my unit heats up way faster then the others. Fans running 100% once it hits 79(C?)... Other Cards will be 48-55(C?) 30-35% fan
Hash is at 264-265 for the 10 cards.
I have no idea what memory they have nor do I know how to figure that out(Don't want to try and pry one open)
Running at 1700-1710 Watts.


My Objectives...

I want to get these cards Stable, No Crashes especially in first 7-15 Minutes.
Id like to be pushing 275-290 Hash on the 10 cards.
Id like to be running between 1400-1500 Watts

Considerations...

I think I might be best buying another motherboard cpu and set of ram.


Any help would be appreciated.

Post your config. Did you install MSI after burner?

If you have time to test, start testing each gpu and riser one by one. Allocate at least 30 mins for each gpu. Also test slots. Maybe this will identify your problem if it is a hardware problem. Otherwise, your issue could be a power source or software problem.

I think your PSUs not enough to run 10 cards for long time. You will burn your rig begin by the sata cable.
Dual PSU 1200W Platinum should be fine.
For better efficiency you should mod bios:

• Try under clock 10-15%. The best clock is lower than stock 15% and hash rate just lower 5% than stock
• Try to find the best volt for each card
• Try to mod timing ram

You will have nice efficiency: hash rate lower stock 5% but power draw lower 15-20% and temp lower 8-10C.
And the more important is your rig will be more stable.

pull 2 cards as 1710 watts  is wrong:

  pull one from the 750 watt psu

  pull on from the 1000 watt psu


The come back and show us a screen shot of the mining gui for the 8 cards  I need to under stand  what Operating System = OS  you are using.

once  we figure out you OS  we can  clock cards lower power and add back  the 2 extra cards.

10 card rigs are for experts not newbies

How are you having cards per psu ? Maybe one psu is overloaded. When miner is unstable can consume more than show. How much is on the wall the power ? Do you get errors in claymore like: "share rejected, check your overclock settings?"

As others have said, you are drawing an unsafe amount of power from those 2 PSU's.  That is the most likely problem.
Also, please post your what your mem and core clock settings are from the SimpleMining webpage, if those are not set correctly, that could be an issue.

EDIT:  You should also have those power supplies plugged into 2 separate circuits, unless you are running at a higher amperage.

The biggest problem is you have too complicated of a rig for someone who from the sounds of it doesn't have the first idea about mining or building and operating a rig. Don't take this as an insult, it is just the way it is as we all were newbies once.

However, I do think your intuition is right about buying another motherboard and CPU, you might have enough RAM already depending on how much they gave you as 4GB is plenty for a rig.

Bust the big rig up into two smaller rigs of 5 GPUs each. You may also want to pick up a couple of SSD's or you can even use an old HDD you have laying around. While a 64 GB drive may work, I would recommend a 80 GB or 120 GB to be able to install Windows on and work with a familiar OS. The 1000 watts PSU will work great for one of the rigs, but the 750 watt maybe be cutting it a bit close, unless you can really tweak your power consumption. So you may need to pick up another 1000 Watt unit at some point, You could probably run 3-4 GPUs off of it though for awhile just to get yourself going faster.

Once you got the new motherboard setup and going, install Windows. Start by installing just one or two GPUs directly into the motherboard if you have at least two full size 16x PCIe slots, install the mining software and just get familiar with how everything works. With such a simple setup it will also be a lot easier for people to help you with online.

From there you can add your PCIe risers and eventually get all 5 GPUs going. At this point you should have a lot better understanding of what is going on and can then use this knowledge to help get your second rig up and running. You may need to use a SSD and convert to Windows for the second rig as well.

While the USB boot drive and OS is great, again it is for advanced users and I think you need get acquainted with the basics before attempting to run and maintain the type of rig they sold you.
