Hello! I am SulliJM1!

I am pretty much brand new to mining. I have some hashpower on Genesis and Hashflare, but I'm trying to get my own hardware setup going. My goal is to one day build a solar-powered mining farm in my hometown (my parents installed solar panels after I moved out, and I'm trying to buy said house that they are selling).
------------------------------------------------
So, a little bit about my situation and such;

I am currently living in Japan. The power here is a bit pricey, but it's paid for (up to a point) by my occupation.

I have a couple thousand dollars for starting capital, and my job provides me with decent startup-cash. I can also easily take a low-interest loan if I think necessary. I'd like to RoI on new equipment somewhere in the 5-7 month timeframe.

Moving on-
I purchased two (2) S7 miners on eBay, along with a single Amity Labs 2880W Power Supply. They haven't arrived yet, I'm hoping to see them in the next week or two.

I've always been interested in mining with USB sticks, but that seems no longer feasible. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on that?

I also have NO idea which pools to use. I've been doing research, but I'd also appreciate some recommendations.

Also, getting top-of-the-line hardware (S9s, L3+'s, D3's) is a pain! Is it worth paying the ridiculous amount of money that they pop up on eBay for, or am I better off trying to get them from BitMain direct?

Another note- I'm not dead-set on my equipment being from BitMain. If anybody has any recommendations, I will gladly listen to them.

Konichiwa SulliJM1-san,
Welcome to the crazy world of bitcoin! To address your points in order:
1) 2 S7s will mine 9+ TH/s which is a fine start.
2) USB miners are really only good for playing the lottery, that is running on a solo pool and hoping to hit a block.
3) I'm partial to Kano pool for my miners.  Have been from day one and love it.
4) Buy direct from bitmain, or canaan, only. Not worth the markup and loss of warranty when buying through reseller.

Good luck!

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc
These aren't the Droids you're looking for: S5 & S7 (Sold), R4B2, R4B4 (RIP), 2x S9 obsolete, 2xS15-28, S17-56, S17-70
Pushing a whopping 1/5 PH!  Oh The SPEED!!!
