Hi there,

So I ran into an issue where I sold a used antminer (through ebay) The buyer claimed it arrived DOA, so I provided a refund. While trying to troubleshoot the problem, I found a post on this site, that matches my timelines perfectly and sounds like the problems my buyer was messaging me about. Only issue they mined just fine for 12 hours then began trying to modify the unit, and I'm guessing got heavy handed with it causing damage.

I'm wondering if there is someone who can confirm the email someone used to create their account, if I provide the one I believe they used. It's a longshot as they may have multiple e-mails, but maybe I would get lucky. I'd consider it a win if I could catch this fraudulent buyer, as a scam is a scam. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Hmm, I don't think the admins of this forum would meddle with the trade you've made off-site. Also, theymos (the admin) is very strict on giving out personal info of its users to single individuals who may have been scammed. Unfortunately, no one can help you out in this matter since you're just assuming that the other user who posted the product you think is yours is in this forum.

Btw, care to share the topic you think is related with your case? Maybe someone can take a look at that and see for themselves.

Hi thanks for the help. Unfortunately whatever they did doesn't make sense. The unit power up, but then the fan slows down the 4 green lights on the control board all go solid. The ethernet light comes on, but the Antminer s5 doesn't show up on my network. My guess is that the individual did something to damage the control board when attempting to switch out the fan. I found some spare parts locally and am going to try switching things around to see if I can salvage the unit.

Chocking it up to a learning experience and going to be more stringent on returns in the future.
