With the Arrival of Bitcoin Cash, Has the Bitcoin Brand been Diluted?
no!
Also what happens when there is a 3rd Bitcoin, if at all there is one in November?
it has always been like this:
if the new coin can gain enough popularity and can convince enough people to be considered majority, it will be bitcoin.
if not it will be an altcoin
if somewhere in the middle then bitcoin is no longer strong.
so far bitcoin has been what majority is accepting as bitcoin. and all the rest of them (which is not just BCH but a lot of others) have always been altcoins.
nothing about that will change.
Lets Say for Example, If for an equity investor, the Choice is between
a) Amazon
b) Amazon ABC
c) Amazon XYZ
all three listed on the stock exchange, will he pick one or avoid all due to the confusion?
i can register
http://AmazonBelongingToRedAppleAlone.com right now for a very small fee.
and then i can list it on exchanges easily.
will you buy shares of AmazonBelongingToRedAppleAlone, short form: AMZRA?
Now if we replace Amazon with Bitcoin, those are the options in front of first time Bitcoin Buyers.
How do you think they would react?
Would they pick 1 or avoid all, as for now the Bitcoin brand seems diluted, at least it seems so from the sidelines.
yes lets replace Amazon with bitcoin.
there is bitcoin,
then there is
bitcoin cash
bitcoin unlimited (
https://www.bitfinex.com/trading/BCUUSD)
bitcoin dark
bitcore (which has SegWit and 20 MB blocks)
bitcoinPlus (not sure what this is)
litecoin
dogecoin
Primecoin
Namecoin
Titcoin
and lots more according to this answer[1] more than 94% of altcoins are based on bitcoin in 2016
now which one do you think investors have been choosing in the past 9 years?
