WDC, the hottest one for now. Network hash rate at about 1.3Mh/s, only next to Bitcoin and Litecoin.

Depends on how many hashes you can make...more than 500MorKhs id for for ltc or btc as you can spend them.

I was looking at all the alt coins, but just briefly, and I am uncertain which one will be good to start mining with.

If your looking for a major coin, Litecoin. Could also try Worldcoin, which is really popular atm. Both should give you rewards quickly when pool mining, although Worldcoin is significantly more profitable atm

coinchoose.com makes it easy, but as a beginner I'd pick something that isn't a massive clusterfuck rat race like the garbage coins that everyone is pumping around here. Those coins have value in many cases for only a week or so. Also pools with new coins are notoriously bugged and constantly getting DDOSed. You could easily lose your coins to a pool operator turned scammer (its happened to me more than once).

I'd stick with a coin with a longer track record and stable pools. Something like ltc or ppc.

Try http://www.coinwarz.com/ and give attention to price stability and mining risk. Start with LTC and use Coinotron's PPS payout. You'll  start receiving coin right away and there's enough liquidity at BTCe to unload it at will.

Yeah I would definitely start out with LTC at either litecoinpool.org for pps (pay per share) or give-me-ltc.com for PPLNS (pay per last n shares). LTC you can actually spend making it a good coin to start on.

What kind of video card would you be mining on?

Binance Exchange for IOTA, REQ, ETC. 0.05% Fees, good for day trading:

I never mined yet, but I have read about these 'hashes' but don't know what that means.

'500MorKhs' - sort of looks like gibberish to me

I suppose I would mine with my computer.

I don't like to download stuff on my pc, all that much, ya know. So, I tend to pause and think about downloading anything.

For simplicity's sake, Litecoin's your altcoin Tongue

WDC is your best bet right now.  You can mine it easily using wdc.dontmine.me very good pool.  It will be on exchanges shortly so just hold onto any coins you mine.

More profitable right now than LTC

litcoinpool is awesome, start there for your first couple weeks, tweak your cards!
