Is there an formula to apply to compare the values against aud?
Simple.  Go on coinmarketcap.com and multiply the amount of XRP you have by the AUD price that they show.  You could also go onto the "markets" section and check the trading pairs' prices that are directly against AUD.  If you want to figure out the value of the BTC you're getting, just do the same with the BTC price.
ATM xrp/btc is low, it seems like a good time to buy, but is it?
The price is not historically low, it's just come out of an absolutely monstrous pump.  A couple of years ago this would have been the top.

I can't tell you whether it's a good time to buy but I can tell you to be extremely careful playing around with alts, or you could get burned.

XRP is an altcoin and i think you can use some exchange site like the above said to buy bitcoins there are no other ways but you can also try to find someone in altcoin section and maybe they can help you to exchange your xrp to buy bitcoin..
Also you can try this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Make crypto as your bank.

I really don't get your logic.

Why would you use your Ripple to buy BTC right now. As you are saying xrp/btc is low.
Ripple is just under <4K satoshi and this is 3 months low.

If you lost your faith in Ripple, it's ok. But otherwise you need to wait for XRP to rise and exchainge it for higher amount of BTC.

my logic is im bored, i have some change and maybe i can go for a surf when the prices are right. Yes, it is easy to get burned fliping around in this surf.....

xrp * aud = currentvalue, yep i get that but isnt there a .... darn, i don;t even know what it is called, a factor? All i know is im doing two equations to get to currentvale, isnt't there a way just to do it in one equation... there would be a float-value factor involved i imagine....

That is very easy to do. You can checkout the information regarding xmr/btc pair on any exchanger, I guess livecoin has most trading volume for this pair so you may wanna try it out there. There is one more option while choosing platform which you can choose form the list given on coinmarektcap. Under this website go to the section where it says sort by exchanger. You will get all A to Z exchangers list including the XMR/BTC pair avaible for the trading. The conversion would be easy over livecoin, you can put on sell order immediately. :-)

what you are asking is like asking how do i buy USD with groceries! you don't buy USD, you sell groceries and get USD in return. and you can do it if someone is willing to pay USD directly for your goods.

the same here, you dump sell XRP to get BTC in return. if there is a direct market or someone willing to give it to you directly then you can simple do it and if not you have to go at it indirectly.
if you want CAD for your XRP then if there is a market for it then you are in luck if not you have to sell for bitcoin and then sell that bitcoin for CAD to get what you want.

the price will be something nearly as (XRP price in BTC) * (BTC price in CAD)

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

thank you all for your replies...
it's the difference in pairs, say btc/aud -10% and xrp/btc -20%, that's throwing me off, i keep thinking they should be the same or much closer and move in sync.... Part of that difference would be brokers fees but is the rest just pure trading, headless, in a brave new world?
What are the things that influence these pairs? Perhaps theses traders have closer ears to the ground, miners, devs, finteks and the like, theyd wanna' have i guess....

Right now, i don't think i'd want anything to do with ripple yet. Though i'm holding xrps right now, it's really for long term i think. Better to focus on btc itself at the moment than other altcoins

You Beauty.... I can compare the pairs in my head now, i mind sees the values very quickly and I can now answer my own questions....

thank you all for your replies...
it's the difference in pairs, say btc/aud -10% and xrp/btc -20%, that's throwing me off

the values trail or lead. They shouldn't be considered a lag because the pair trades on their own volition and are reactive to their influences, like currency fluctuations...

a bit of fun over the last 12 hours i notice...

Yeah now i see  that you could resolve that, but i dont get the point of your thread, you have ripple and you wanna convert it into btc?
you can do it in any exchanger, like bittrex or cryptopia. Just be careful in where do you put your coins.. but i dont recommend you to sell your ripple right now, they are in a bullish trend and they might go up a few cents more in the next week.

These two exchange platforms are great choices. Grab some XRP from them.

XRP is beginning to rise now. So buy as soon as possible. There is still some upward movement after this day most probably but you always want a bigger profit in your investment. The cheaper the better.

Yeah as those sites are trusted.
And when you buy make sure its the cheapest of all the offers so you can have a good profit.
Xrp now is doing great and its momentum is uptrend so better buy now while you can afford it.
