I missed it I bought at 65K some time ago and should sold it now. Nah, news isn't out yet, this is just some pre-pump activity. Just hodl and wait, maybe set up some sells at 90 or so to cover your initial cost and then sit on the rest. I think it'll easy spike over 100k as soon as devs post news.

I just heard from the devs that it will be 'midday Pacific time, similar to last release.' So I'd guess between 2 and 6 hours from now.

Sold half for 77 like you adviced Cheers! Now your remaining average buy price is 53k, not 65. Suggestion: You could sell 60% of what you have left at 88k - Then the remaining 40% (20% of original purchase) is 'free', and let that ride. It's a very cautious approach (no actual realized profit yet) but I like to minimize risk.

I`m not that good in those calculations yet. Just begining. At what price you suggest to sell the rest? Should we really wait for 100?

I`m not that good in those calculations yet. Just begining. At what price you suggest to sell the rest? Should we really wait for 100? Here's how I do it: Say you buy 100 at 65k. Total buy in, 6,500,000 satoshi Say you sold half those (50) at 77k So now your total buy in is 6500k - 3850k = 2650 So your cost per, with 50 left, is 2650k / 50 = 53k To find out how many you have to sell at what rate to break even, do this: 2650 / (how many of those 50 you'll sell) = Sell price 2650k / 30 = 88.3k So if you sell 30 at 88k, 100% of your buy in is covered. Leaves you with 20 GEO left that you didn't have to pay for. I would be very reluctant to sell those at all, maybe just a little here or there if you notice a really nice spike. Save some for 8/23!

If the price drops to 65 again I think the party is over. If that happens, wait until late on 8/22 to buy after today's bump settles in a little. Personally, I would spend no more than half of what you made in profits from today's trades. Keep your risk low. Probably there will be another big pump on 8/23.

Nice call greyworld. I only just saw this or I might have put some of Bittrex portfolio against GEO. I'm still holding a lot of XEL that I'd have been happy to convert to a moving coin. Also your advice for taking back initials is similar to what I read about "how to hold bags". Any chance you could share some of these tips again?

Iphone / Android apps
Geomap box interface updated
In app driving directions to nearby GEO
Game-like features for harvesting GEO

Big dip, wow! Good chance to buy some more? I think I'd wait. I think the market wanted to hear about big-fish partnership, nothing on that yet.
Party is over, too bad it didn't spike more but 60%+ isn't too shabby. If you want to buy some more I'd wait at least a day and a half.

Thanks! As for advice, hmm... Honestly, I should be asking other people for advice not the other way around. But if I have learned anything so far, I think this is what's working out best for me so far: Two main strategies for investing: 1) All your eggs in one (or few) baskets 2) A few eggs in many baskets. Both have strengths and weaknesses, but I prefer #2. Safer in the long run and gives you more options, every day just watch and see what's doing good, focus on that one. What I like to do is find something that tends to violently spike every so often, buy in a dip, put in a sell of half of it for twice what I bought it for, and wait. Might be waiting a while. But when it hits, you covered your buy in and you still have half left for free. If it doesn't spike that big, you can also say... buy 3, sell 2 at 150% buy cost and again end up with 1 free, etc. Then, keep track of the ones you got for free and know that if you ever need to liquidate them for some other trade, you can do that at any time without concern for your purchase price. Strategy #1's strengths are potentially bigger and faster gains. Weaknesses are potentially bigger and faster losses. And if you're under the buy in rate, you're tied up until it picks up, and you miss opportunities. Strategy #2's downsides are higher transaction costs, slower return (but steadier), and sometimes it stings when one picks up and you think 'if only I had put all my eggs in *that* basket'. But I'll take 'oww, I didn't make as much money as I could have' over 'OWWWW I LOST A WHOLE LOT'. Steady return eventually turns into a bigger stack and lower return rates on that bigger stack are larger than higher return rates on a small, unstable investment. Also, this is obvious but some people just ignore it: Research your buys. Know about the investment before you put any money into it. Know when important events are going to happen. Know who the competitors are and what they're doing. Listen to the haters, even if you don't agree with them. That's pretty much the only info I have of value, anything else is speculation. --- Anyone want to buy me a beer? 1DzNQaGds3NxVBatAGaWRF9qieyuR6M7qA - THANKS
