So lets say I have a brand new account that has a name I like. Is it possible to change my name to that account? Alternatively, would it be easier for me to just request a name change?

Or do I need to be a Donator to change my name?

theymos does grant name changes, however these are fairly few and far between. You can ask, but without a Donator tag there is not a 100% chance that it will be granted.

its difficult to say that it would be easy to change your username, the only right person you would ask is theymos no other than him.
and yes you need to be a donator to grand what you wishing for, because like minifrij said, without a Donator tag there is not a 100% chance that it will be granted. so you have to be a donator first before to request to change your username at first place.

I know people who have changed their name without Donator or mod status.

I am fairly sure that when an exception is made by whatever admin to grant someone a name change opportunity, it will be based on how that particular user has been contributing to this forum/community.

And that actually makes sense ~ I don't see any reason for a simple forum user to be granted a name change. If that was the case, basically anyone would be eligible to have its forum name changed.

it is not easy to change username Now , might be you will not get reply by admin but it depend on luck if they read your post or PM then might be u will get reply

Ditch this account and create a new one. There is no chance of you getting a name change without donating 10BTC.

And even I don't see any reason to give the privilege of a name change to someone who hasn't contributed anything meaningful and significant in this forum. And if name changes are given like flyers on a sidewalk, everyone else would be changing theirs that can sometimes be a root for scamming someone because you can't keep track of their activities anymore.
