Place the miners in a low electricity country that is an idea or place solar panels to lower your costs. If mining did not cost any power the coins will be worth a lot less. The harder coins become the mine vs demand the more the price will increase on it. When you can't mine bitcoins anymore the price will shoot up. Miners are still needed to maintain the network.

So yeah bitcoins will keep their worth in some way. This is also the same for other primary coins that are been mined. Some switch over to a POS solution after the mining stage.

what you ask is not logical  Undecided
if you invest nothing ( time, effort, money) in mining process, what will stop all people from mining. and how will be you rewarded if you are doing nothing. you get rewarded for something you do.

You expect cheap mining alternatives to satisfactory results, I think that's impossible, because if mining without capital takes a long time to produce satisfactory results, I think why you are not using an expensive mining alternative to produce quickly and satisfactorily.

It sounds like what you are looking for are "Proof of Stake" coins.

Yes. Proof of stake coins, like decreed or black coin. You lock a number of coins in and you get gas everytime they vote.

Or for short -- POS
Of course POS is also commonly short for "Piece Of Sh.." Wink

Yeah that is true and that is what makes the equation E=mc2. Got dam it op you must be weak in physics. There is no lunch box which comes free. You have to work hard to earn something valuable. The coins they are minted and mined by miners at the expense of electricity and heat energy. They have to keep them cool which needs more energy and in turn they will be solving big transaction threads with the amazing computing power. This is big process and it needs you to work for it. That is what gives value to everything in the world. Bite me if I'm wrong.

Ethereum is planning to move TO a Proof of Stake model - it has not DONE SO yet.

Tail end of the year or early next year per their current roadmap for the first move in that direction, and it's planned to be a "phase-in" thing so they might not be full POS 'till mid-to-late next year - IF they don't push it back again (it's been pushed back a FEW times already).

that's the reason why miners are also looking for another alts which they can still benefits when mining the project but with OP maybe PoS and DPoS coin will help him if I remember it right stratis also a PoS coin which you need to have some good numbers of coins to have better rewards.

Which part of "with no mining" did you not understand?
Also, most current Litecoin pools include merged mining of more than DOGE - Litecoinpool in particular has a NEGATIVE fee because they merge-mine and keep the merge-mined coin to pay their costs to run the pool then feed some of the leftover funds back TO the miners.

I'm far from an expert on these coins, but Off the top of my head, you can earn Steem by writing articles, and Sia and Storj by sharing HD space.  Golem is supposed be earned by sharing CPU power (i don't think its up,and running, yet, though).  There are certainly some "no mining" coins out there, and all require either effort, skill, or hardware, but shouldn't send your electric bill through the roof.
