SilentFilm Token [SLF] a digital currency on the Waves platform.  SilentFilm Token is one of a new breed of tokens created not as a stand-alone complete currency system but instead to promote knowledge and support the economy of those involved in worthy endeavors.

Silent Films were the only films made for the first forty years of film making history.  Sadly, up to 70% of all silent films no one will ever see again.  Every year, new silent films from this lost category of movies turn up unexpectedly.  It's one of the most exciting events going on today -- to stay in tune with the news about films being discovered which often have not been seen by anyone in over eighty years.

SilentFilm Token will help people explore silent films and reward them in the process.

The reason for this token's existence is that Silent Films are perhaps one of the least appreciated and under funded arts in existence.  In fact, the reason why 70% of them no longer exist in any form is because of great neglect and even outright destruction of them for their silver nitrate contents.

AIRDROPS

We will have several "airdrops." "Airdrops" are free coin giveaways in the cryptocurrency world.  We will also have an ICO to boost the price of the Token in the marketplace.  There are one hundred million SilentFilm Tokens available.  These will only be released very slowly over time so that they retain their value to those receiving them.    This token follows the "decentralized charity" framework of promoting cryptocurrencies to people interested in noble causes like the arts.  

To get the first airdrop, have Junior member level status at Bitcointalk and simply name five silent films that are on YouTube and post screen shots from each of them on some social media site, image sharing site, or your own website.  PM the developer this information and "I Love Silent Films" in the Title. Do not post it in the thread. Send your WAVES address and 500 SilentFilm Tokens will be sent if you do exactly as asked. Allow up to one week to get the airdrop.  

Bitcointalk is the central hub of cryptocurrency communications and has formal annoucements threads for most of the over one-thousand active cyptocurrencies.  If you are reading this somewhere else and do not have a Bitcointalk thread but would like to be involved in the SilentFilm token, there are ways you can help increase the value of the token.  Stay infomed about this by following updates at our website, which will be

The WAVES digital currency allows you to have "currencies" created which are stored on the same address that you use for your WAVES address. As of the time writing this, WAVES has a over a 500 million dollar market cap.  It's the most user friendly of all cryptocurrencies, working as a stand-alone application that you first add to your Chrome browser as an extension. Burger King in Russia recently issued a token on the WAVES platform.

There are over 1000 full length silent movies on YouTube at any one given time.  They are in all genres,
from comedy, horror, mystery, drama, war, crime stories, and many more.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

The founder, Robert Pearson, started ParaMind Brainstorming Software in 1992, and in early 1994 was the Seattle area's first Internet consultant advertising to the general public and small businesses.  Since 2011, he has been a contributing member on the Nitrateville Vintage film forum, having started over twenty heavily discussed posts and contributing to many more.  Nitrateville is the forum frequented by silent film scholars, vintage film collectors, film companies, archivists and others in the film industry.  


ROADMAP

We have many goals involved in making silent films better known in the world.  One goals is to promote the translation into English of many silent films which currently are only in less popular languages.  Dutch is the language of many of these films since that country saved so many of them.  The original language oddly enough was English, but there are no surviving English copies of these films.  

While it is possible that less than Junior member-level accounts may not be duplicate accounts, it's less probable. So, if you have a less than member-level account, please realize this airdrop is indefinite so you have time enough to build up your member status.

OK, so, I already got two people that sent requests to be on the airdrop without doing what I said.  When you create Announcement threads and start things, there is a lot of work involved. 

I will not give airdrops to people who just send me a Waves address and "I love silent films."  I want you to actually have to watch some for the Airdrop. 


Some people don't read much and post for their own signature campaigns and so on.   It really helps to have others step up and help out.  I am not going to answer every redundant question that is already answered in the thread.

There is no immediate end to this airdrop.  The purpose is to create attention to silent films.

I forgot to make this a self-moderated thread and we all know what can happen here.  I really don't think most of us want to put up with the juvenile comments and such.   Waves deserves a lot of respect.  I will lock the thread and start another one that's moderated.
