If you end up buying lots of obscure Altcoins, how do you manage with storing them on a desktop wallet or mobile wallet? Won't you need to download all the official Altcoin wallets off their website then you will have 50 wallets on your computer and get confused? How do you guys deal with this?

There are some wallets that are capable of manipulating multiple coins. For example look at JAXX.
However, you will still be limited by the number of coins these wallets support as it only includes coins that are more used by the public.

If you are holding "obscure" altcoins that are unknown to the general public, most likely you will have to keep and use their specialized and separate wallet.

That could get very confusing imo. Wondering how people deal with this? There must be a better way.

Although not generally recommended due to security reasons, you could technically store them at an exchange.
