Hi, i have a question regarding trading on Bittrex that's been bothering me for a while since i couldn't find an answer to this.
This might not be just on Bittrex but on other exchanges as well. I wasn't sure where to post this hope it's ok here.

I'll try to explain as simple as possible.

Let's say i want to buy an alt, the ASKS prices are e.g like this:

ASK(BTC)       SIZE(XXX)   TOTAL     SUM
0.1000000      100            3.000      3.000
0.2000000      100            3.000      6.000
0.5000000      100            4.000     10.000

Now i want to buy for 10 BTC's right away with one click, i would have to choose the price 0.5000000 since
that's where the SUM is at 10 BTC's. If i choose 0.5000000 it already shows me how many coins i will get for that
price, so i would be getting 2000 XXX coins for 10 BTC's. But the price shown is actually if i buy ALL OF THEM for
exactly that price, which i don't.

I should be getting 3000 coins for the first 3 btc, 1500 for second 3 btc and 800 coins for the last 4 btc's,
so in total i should be getting 5300 XXX coins, but i don't.

Because the people who are selling, are actually selling the amount of coins that i should be getting, so 1st person is
selling 3000 coins worth 3 BTC's, he gets his 3 BTCs from me, second person is selling 1500 coins worth 3 BTC's and 3rd person
selling 800 coins worth 4 BTC. All of them get my BTC's but i don't receive the total amount of coins they're selling.

I only get 2000 coins, so my question is, where do the other 3300 coins go? I know i would get 5300 coins when i buy from each row one
by one, but sometimes you don't wanna do 500 clicks just to buy coins for 10 BTC but choose a SUM at 10 BTC instead. Especially when there are
frigging bots where you can't even click the price that keeps blinking hundred times a second.

Same goes for selling, you choose a row way down where the SUM is at 10 BTC so you can sell for 10 BTC's straight away but you should actually
be getting more BTC's out of it since there are rows in between where the price of a coin is lower.

So i.e i don't buy/sell all of them for exactly that price, some are cheaper in between the rows, i still pay more or get less than i should be and the rest just disappears or goes to the exchanges?

Hope this is somewhat understandable.

also on terms of condition to sign up there are a few states in the US that are restricted.  If the state I reside in is one of those states, does it mean I cannot trade on bittrex?

if you want to buy 10BTC worth of an altcoin things become tricky. but if you want to buy 2000  of some altcoin it is much easier.

with that said in your example first your numbers are a bit wrong. (changed the size(XXX))
ASK(BTC)       SIZE(XXX)   TOTAL     SUM
0.1000000      30              3.000      3.000
0.2000000      15              3.000      6.000
0.5000000      8                4.000     10.000

now to buy 10BTC worth of XXX you just click on the price (0.5BTC here) and set the total to 10 and click buy. if you have enough to cover the fees you will buy (30+15+8) 53 XXX.

if you set the price on 0.5 and set out to buy 15BTC worth of XXX, you get 53 XXX and will have an open buy order placed at 0.5 and the size of 5BTC.

same goes for selling. the system will automatically start filling the orders from top and goes deep until it reaches your price, if there is still something left over, it places a new open order for you.

There is a FOMO brewing...

Could you explain how I can sell my coin instantly?
I trade with bittrex too..

What price need choose ask, bid or last?
When I open sell order at last price, order is opened long time.. not instantly.

Before I trade with poloniex

What price need choose ask, bid or last?
The ask price is the price that people want to sell it to you for.  When you want to buy, you choose the ask price.

The bid price is the price that people are willing to pay for it.  When you want to sell, you choose the bid price.

The last price is just the price that was used on the most recent trade.

It's important to note that you don't have to stick with those ask and bid prices though - you can set whatever price you want, but you just have to hope that someone fills your order.  That's why there is a gap between the ask and bid prices.
When I open sell order at last price, order is opened long time.. not instantly.
There could be two problems:

-The volume is too low in that trading pair for your order to be filled.
-You chose a different price than the bid price, so you have to hope that someone wants to fills your order

If you want your trade to be instant, take a look at the button that says "good 'til cancelled" and change it to "instant or cancel" so that the trade will be cancelled if it is not filled instantly.
