In light of the fact that Bitcoin is still experimental and very volatile, would you say that this was a good or a bad decision and would you do the same?

How many people have done this already?

I won't leave my day-job. In the future we'll all have UBI (Universal Basic Income). The dollar will be worthless and 1 satoshi will probably get you something to eat (if btc is still on top).

So no, I won't leave my day job, my day job will leave me!

As to how many people have left theirs... I don't know.

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

My friend too left his job to focus bitcoin and me too i left my job to focus more on bitcoin. When the time i work to my daily job i never earn money from my salary. Becuase its not enough to our daily lives.
But when i joined here and focus here i earned money for my family especially to my kids.

I think that is not even a bad idea actually. Being involved in bitcoin ventures can be just like a job, albeit with a bit less job security as these things may come and go a bit faster.

If it is his own venture, that has ofcourse added risks, but it can make you big as well, same as entrepreneurship in normal ventures.

I've known a couple of traders that focus mostly on bitcoin and altcoins (rather than forex, stocks, commodities) now. In my case, I do a bit of trading, but I don't have nearly the cushion in savings that I'd like to have to pursue it full-time. I'd have to put too much of my BTC at risk for trading capital as it is, and that's not worth it to me. That's my retirement fund we're talking about. Smiley

Sometimes I really wish that I learned how to code. The people that can code and build products interfacing with the cryptocurrency ecosystem are well-positioned to succeed in the coming years. As for me, I'm just an investor.

I can't dare to leave my full-time job because i it may be unpleasant for some who is unbacked.
In bitcoin venture,we even need to wait weeks and months to withdraw profits.
My consensus opinion is to keep your full time job and to work with bitcoin as a part time

I know few people who did this already. The point is the condition you are in at that moment you want to leave your job. If you know you have enough bitcoin that can help you generate even more of it from trading or investment which even just the daily earning is more than enough to take care of every of your needs. Why won't you? Why build someone's dream when I have all the resources in my possession to build mine for my future and children's? If I have upto just 50btc right now, I would definitely leave my job and start something good for myself. Who wouldn't anyway? If I utilise that effectively, it can give me more than what any salary will give me without stress! I will keep adding up to the coin I have and still living my dreams.

I am wondering what 'goind into Bitcoin' really means.
There are many people who simply change their employer. Like all thos guys working for bitpay.
They have quit their old job and now work for another company.
And then there are those people, I would consider them to be self employed. Traders for example.
But if you are asking about a number of how many people make a living from bitcoin in any kind, I would say there are not much more than a couple of thousand.

  It's me!!!

I've heard about two guys who recently left their jobs to organize a mining farm from Ethereum. Personally, I'm not going to quit my job as a software engineer unless bitcoin rises to much higher levels allowing me to live independently using my savings. I would not rely on mining and/or trading.

We all know that having a job is important and bitcoin is a good extra income so don't rely in bitcoin. You can do both at the same time.

If the work is worth it, I would not quit, but if the other way round I will also quit. bit coin is rewarding enough if one can make a wise use of it like setting up a business.

I know people who left their job but most of their children had finished studying and is working. Well you can say that they had gome to early retirement and concentrate in their Bitcoin ventures since they work on their convenience which at the same time invests some of their earnings in business.

For me, I wouldn't leave my job since I can manage both my job and Bitcoin ventures effectively. The career I have in my job is important since it is not all about earning money but rather a sense of achievement I have for myself.

I would like to say that it can be considered either a good or bad decision i.e. they had weighed both pros and cons before they made up their mind in doing so. Maybe it is a much better choice in their case?

I didn't really leave my job for bitcoin but my contract ended and after that I didn't look for another job,
I just found it more profitable to earn in bitcoin rather than going to some local jobs and in earning bitcoin I am the one who holds my time.

I wouldn't dare to do it.Your friend's friends must be very brave. While the price is keep changing there is a chance that they can't eat anything at the end of month and this is a risk that I don't want to take. Smiley Surely I love working for bitcoins and if I had a guaranteed salary I would definitly leave my current job.

My friends and i won't leave the job to focus bitcoin as it is an important for income. But you can treat bitcoin as a good extra income don't reply in it. I think many people need a job to assure to earn money for families especially to raise kids.

SO for mw, that is a very wrong decision. Having a full time work is a very stable to think, no worries at all.
I guess they do not mind of the future that maybe someday, bitcoin will crashes out, because actually no one knows about that so why do they change their life time income with unstable and volatile bitcoin?

Actually, leaving the main work then switch to Bitcoin is not a wrong decision, maybe they already know that Bitcoin it is allowed as a main job because of how many people are already earning huge income from Bitcoin, exceeding of their work at the Office.

The question is : Is this not a bit premature to leave your full-time job to focus on something that are not even properly regulated and technologically matured? Some people might argue that early adopters might gain the edge over their competition, if they enter early.

Would you risk a stable income from a full-time job, to gamble on a experiment that has not yet matured?

The Crypto currency scene is very hostile and competitive and whales can still manipulate the value of the currencies. The fiat system is stable and less volatile and has more users. <bigger market>

1. Bitcoin is still in its early stage so everyone has a fair advantage, might be different in the next 10 or 20 years. Some people hodl bitcoin, others trade, some receive it as means of payment for their services/products. Holders doesn't have to quit their full-time job to focus on bitcoin.

As far as traders are concerned it depends, if a trader is making more money trading than his regular job, then quitting full-time job and focusing on bitcoin is a viable option if he understands the risks, possibile lack of a steady income, lack of a full-time job security. I personally would prefer full-time job/part-time trading.

2. If you are passionate about bitcoin, believe in its technology and future potential then I think quitting your full-time job and starting your own bitcoin startup or being part of other bitcoin related startups is a good option.

3. Keeping your full-time time job and getting paid in BTC for your part-time services or products is the safest option.

4. Yeah, crypto space is hostile, competitive, and can be manipulated to some extent. If you quit your full-time time job and focus only on cryptos, it's somewhat a gamble, it might pay off, may not. A regular job and into bitcoin seems safe.
