A success of what goal? I don't recall it having one.

It brings as much new to the alt-scene than Feathercoin did. This time it's really lighting fast, lets see how that holds up.

yes so far it has been amazingly fast which is good for traders. it has provided a great arbitrage between the 2 exchange for me (bter and mcxnow). as a result is provides accessibility and liquidity that ftc and cnc did not. but that is about all I can think of. future coins can learn from wdc. again not the btc killer but certainly a good coin at this stage.

It has a nice logo. Really though, a coin is only as strong as its community and fan base. In this case WDC had a ton of evangelists spamming exchange sites and spurring trades here. It really is nothing new on the technical side

I somehow managed to buy 637 at 0.0001 at bter while price on mcx was .00023 with that 57btc wall. Guess people were not aware of mcxnow. While it transferred it felt just above 2 and it was the easiest 0.6btc ever

Seems like it has a growing community not seen since Litecoin and Feathercoin. And seems to have some advantages to LTC/FTC as well. Speed: practical for on the spot transactions. Quick diff adjustment: CNC was fast too, but when everyone stopped mining it, the diff will remain high for weeks perhaps months and now take hours to confirm in some cases. WorldCoin retargets in 8 hours, so this will never be an issue. im happy i got out of the ponzi before it collapsed. there is almost no buy support any more.
Looking forward to bumping this in a week perhan007.

LOL Let me know when i can get them CHEAP does not mean anything. On the sell side, I can put a price of 10000 BTC, that's add up to the sum, on the buyer side you can't do it.

The biggest problem other cryptos had was the speed. Worldcoin fixes that which will be a real boon to sellers of services, and buyers of course. I also wouldnt pay too much attention to the total buys/sells on mcxNOW - the buy total just went to 5m BTC

the speed is amazing...was transfering BTC's to exchange today and waiting over 1 hour can be a game changer.

There is a fine line between balancing confirmation time with orphans and stale rates. A coin that confirmed in micro seconds would have an insane number of orphans and stales

Let's wait at least a week or two before we declare WDC a success or failure.
I assume it was added to exchanges via the 'bounty' system <heh heh>
I added it to my pool because the profitability is high and my miners want it. If it goes to oblivion in 3 days I haven't lost much.

Multipool - Always mine the most profitable coin - Scrypt, X11 or SHA-256!

My opinion on it right now:
Litecoin is very fast compared to Bitcoin and yet it hasn't gained anywhere near the amount of market penetration in terms of merchants adopting it. WorldCoin has a load road ahead of it. Don't expect anyone to adopt this just because of faster transaction times.
The 8 hour retarget time is better than other ALTs but of course it still doesn't eliminate the possibility of a steep drop in hash power slowing things down.
I'm not going to deny it is better than some other releases but WDC is not a game-changer in my eyes. I would like to see a more robust solution to the difficulty issue other than a few parameters changed. Unfortunately, a lot of people hyping this up to be a huge deal are just blinded by the profit right now and I'm sure the attitude will change once they finish dumping.

Hey, didn't you sell me all your WorldCoins on day 1 Just poking fun But you are correct that WDC has a long road ahead, and it's success will not be based soley on speed. +1

I really like Worldcoin but it needs to be build up slowly from the bottom like GoldCoin to have a real long succes. You can see already the cracks appearing because some people were driving the price to high up without a real solid base.
